Synopsis

Shin Ha-ri is a hardworking and talented woman working at Go Food company. She is from a middle-class family and her parents run a chicken shop. Jin Young-seo, her best friend is the daughter of a rich businessman and she works as the marketing team leader in her company. Jin Young-seo’s father is compelling her to find a life partner and he arranges a blind date for her. Since she is not interested in the blind date she compels Shin Ha-ri to attend the blind date. Young-seo has no option to reject the blind date or the young man, therefore she asks Ha-ri to disguise as her and behave bossy and in a displeasing way to make him reject Young-seo.

Chairman Kang Da-goo, the founder of Go Food’s parental company and the grandfather of Kang Tae-moo is also in search of a smart wife for his grandson. Kang Tae-moo is a workaholic man and is not interested in marriage. Seeing Tae-moo’s reluctance towards marriage, Kang Da-goo doubts Tae-moo and Cha Sung-hoon, his secretary are in a relationship and even expresses his approval of their relationship. Tae-moo and Cha Sung-hoon get drum stuck hearing this and Tae-moo agrees to go for the blind date arranged by his grandfather.

Tae-moo meets Shin Ha-ri disguised as Young-seo in a luxury hotel. As per the plan, Shin Ha-ri acts bossy and frank not knowing Tae-moo is her company’s CEO. However, their plan goes wrong when Jin Young-seo meets Cha Sung-hoon.

Shin Ha-ri becomes hilariously traumatic when she sees her new boss in the office after the date. To her bad luck, on their first encounter, her slipper accidentally hits Tae-moo’s forehead making his nose bleed. Fortunately, she escaped from showing her face to him but not for long. Her identity gets exposed when Jin Young-seo meets with Cha Sung-hoon in their parking lot unknowing that he is Tae-moo’s chief secretary.

Devoid of no other choice, Jin Young-seo arranges Tae-moo’s meeting with Shin Ha-ri. To hide her identity as his employee, she lies about her name as Shin Geum-hui. Tae-moo asks Shin Ha-ri to pretend as his girlfriend and offers her a huge amount of money to avoid the blind dates arranged by his grandfather. As their contract dating proceeds, they become head over heels for each other and Shin Ha-ri’s identity gets exposed to him. By that time, Cha Sung-hoon and Jin Young-seo also make a great couple.

Though the real identity of Shin Ha-ri creates a little mess, Tae-moo’s grandfather approves their relationship.

Theme

‘Business Proposal’ is a cute-feel good office romance K-drama. The drama has plenty of content to laugh and ease the mind. Besides, the drama talks about loyalty, friendship and family. The friendship bond between Shin Ha-ri and Jin Young-seo is as strong as that of Kang Tae-moo and Cha Sung-hoon. Neither of them sacrifice their best friend for the partner that they have fallen for. Instead, they convince their lover about the character of their best friend and make them accept their friend as they are.
