Who is Eun Gye-young & What Happened to Her?

Eun Gye-hoon had a twin sister named Eun Gye-young (Ahn Se-bin), whom he lost when they were young. They both can feel each other’s feelings even if they are far apart, and they name this phenomenon ‘link’. He was able to feel his sister’s emotions.

One day, while Gye-hoon was playing with his friends, Gye-young disappeared, and ever since that day, he has never felt her emotions. His family believes that Gye-young is not alive.

One day, Gye-hoon and Da-hyun accidentally meet in the street. However, they glance at each other only for a second before they pass by. Da-hyun receives multiple gifts from one anonymous person, and one of her male colleagues, Lee Jin-geun (Shin Jae-hwi), spreads rumours that she is dating someone.

Why Does Gye-hoon Quit His Job?

Gye-hoon is preparing a special dish at a food festival amidst a mass crowd and media. During the preparation, suddenly he feels irritated, and he goes to the rooftop. Da-hyun works as a waiteress at the same event, and they both meet on the rooftop.

Gye-hoon can now perceive her emotions, and during their conversation, he asks for her age, place, and other details because he wants to determine if she is his sister or not. However, Da-hyun thinks that he is a pervert.

After that incident at the food festival, Gye-hoon decides to quit the job as he is on the verge of getting fired. After leaving the job, Gye-hoon and his colleague are going to open a restaurant, and Gye-hoon leaves for Jihwa-dong to rent a place for their restaurant. Jihwa-dong is a town where he lived during his childhood.

Da-hyun’s mother ends up finding out that Da-hyun lost her job and eventually brings her back to their hometown. Meanwhile, Gye-hoon finds a place in Jihwa-dong, and that place turns out to be next to Da-hyun’s house. When they both meet again, she ill-treats him in front of everyone, calling him a pervert stalker.

Who Killed the Stalker?

One day, while Da-hyun is walking home at night, she notices that someone is following her. To her horror, she realises it’s Lee Jin-geun, the same stalker from her office, who has followed her to Jihwa.

He pushes her against a table; her head is hit, and she faints. When she wakes up, she finds the stalker dead. Her mother and grandmother wrap and dump the body in a refrigerator thrown out by Gye-hoon. Before they can do something, Gye-hoon takes the fridge back inside because the workers mistakenly moved it out.

Da-hyun is so tense and anxious that she enters Gye-hoon’s restaurant to check on the dead body, and she is even more shocked to see an empty refrigerator there.

Gye-hoon’s Hidden Secret

After Gye-hoon’s sister disappeared, he received a letter from a child who claimed to have seen his father with bloodied hands on the day Gye-young went missing. The person mentioned in the letter was Gye-young’s piano teacher. Gye-hoon had reported him to the police; however, that man was not charged due to a lack of evidence.

Gye-hoon and Da-hyun have been spending quality time with each other. Still, Gye-hoon is unsure if Da-yun is his sister, but he is concerned about her. Da-hyun starts to fall for him, but instead of confessing her feelings, she tells him that she is a killer. Gye-hoon is in shock upon knowing this.

Another character is introduced: aerobics instructor Jo Jae-suk (Kim Hyun), who has seen Da-hyun’s mother and grandmother moving the body into the refrigerator. She says that she will keep it a secret, and in return, Da-hyun’s mother and grandmother have to kill her abusive husband.

Da-hyun gets a new job at Gye-hoon’s restaurant, and she meets a new chef, Cha Jin-ho (Lee Suk-hyeong), there. That chef is the same man who had come to inquire about his brother Lee Jin-geun. He thinks that Da-hyun and Jin-geun are dating and keep a close eye on Da-hyun.

Where Did the Deceased’s Body Disappear?

Like Da-hyun, Gye-hoon is also confused about the whereabouts of the body. Days later, he gets a clue when he finds out that one of his knives is missing. Gye-hoon concludes that Jin-geun is not dead and has run away from the refrigerator with a knife, intent on attacking Da-hyun.

There are talks in the town that Gye-hoon is back to avenge the death of his sister. Before disappearing, Gye-young was last seen with her piano teacher Han Eui-chan (Lee Gyu-hoe). Eui-chan apologizes to Gye-hoon for Gye-young’s death without revealing what exactly happened.

Meanwhile, Da-hyun receives multiple messages on her social media accounts from Lee Jin-geun saying that he has been following her family. One day, Da-hyun is attacked by shop owner Lee Young-hoon, who had testified against Gye-young’s piano teacher.

Gye-hoon reaches on time and saves Da-hyun; however, she is severely hurt. Lee Young-hoon tries to kill both of them, but police officer Han Sejin arrives on time and arrests him.

Lee Young-hoon turns out to be a serial killer. He doesn’t confess to his crime directly, but the police get a clue from his statement that leads them to the remains of Gye-young.

On the other hand, the police officers get the refrigerator out of Gye-hoon’s restaurant and find Lee Jin-geun’s dead body inside.

Ending Explained

Ahn Jung-ho (Kim Chan-hyung), an inspector at Jihwa Police Substation, finds the remains of Gye-young’s sister. Along with that, he also finds the remains of Gye-hoon’s father, who left home 18 years ago in search of Gye-young.

Gye-hoon and his mother’s long-suffering come to an end, and they hold a funeral for them. Da-hyun is healing from her injuries and is living a normal life. Gye-hoon’s restaurant has been doing well, and Da-yun works as a manager now. The Jihwa-dong neighbourhood is back at peace since the mystery killer was caught after 18 years.
