Overview of Love, Again

Synopsis
Sun-young and Hyung-woo are an unhappy married couple who are planning for a mutual divorce. They have been married for a few years. Initially, they were happy with their decision, but as time passed, the likes of one person started to feel like a burden to the other one.
They had an intimate marriage ceremony without the luxury of a function. Hyung-woo wedded Sun-young at the time that she felt lonely and in need of a shoulder to lean on. Since they were married in a private gathering, they hosted a party to announce their divorce plan.
They invite their close family and friends to the function, and while the guests are enjoying the party, they break their divorce plan. The party ended by taking a photograph of Sun-young and Hyung-woo with the guests.
After the divorce, Hyung-woo started going to his office. He works in a company that sells undergarments. Though he enjoys his single life after the divorce, he struggles with his work.
On the flip side, Sun-young has gone on a vacation and has just arrived in Korea. Since Sun-young and Hyung-woo do not have any close relatives, they decide to stay in touch till they find a new partner.
One day, Hyung-woo receives a call from Sun-young while he works at the office. Sun-young gets into an accident while she is driving back home after a tour. She still lives in the house that she used to live in with Hyung-woo. Also, they shared the ownership of the car she drove.
Hyung-woo arrives and helps her to settle the matter. Afterwards, he drives her home and helps her to carry her bags. Later, he cleans the house for her. The next day, she again calls him, asking him to assist her to the hospital.
Since Sun-young’s hand got hurt in the accident, the doctor put a bandage around her wrist. Seeing her condition, Hyung-woo agrees to help her. He drives her to her house and helps her to do all the household work. He even helps her to wash her head.
Hyung-woo’s kind treatment triggers Sun-young’s good memories that she has with Hyung-woo.
One evening, she invites him for dinner to show her gratitude for helping her during her hard time. When Sun-young had already started missing her life with Hyung-woo, he showed no trace of missing her. He says that his life after divorce is very relaxed. Also, he adds he does not want to follow Sun-young’s strict rules anymore. Sun-young becomes disappointed in Hyung-woo’s explanation about his current life.
One day, Sun-young accidentally falls into the river, and an unknown man rescues her and takes her to the hospital. The next day, she goes to see Sang-cheol, the man who rescued her, to show gratitude.
Sang-cheol is a veterinary doctor. They soon become friends and start to date. Also, he was a friend of Hyung-woo, which Sun-young is unaware of.
Meanwhile, Hyung-woo was facing trouble with his work. A customer is continually uploading bad reviews about Hyung-woo’s company’s products. To solve the problem, his manager asks him to meet the customer and settle the matter. To his surprise, the customer was Sang-cheol.
Sang-cheol was consulting his patients (dogs) when Hyung-woo went to see him. Since he knew Sang-cheol and his family from a young age, he started to blabber about Sang-cheol’s parents’ dog soup restaurant. Somehow Sang-cheol manages to take Hyung-woo away for a personal talk, and they settle the issue about the product’s review.
They rekindle their friendship by meeting occasionally. While eating at the restaurant, Sang-cheol talks about Sun-young, whom he plans to propose to. Sang-cheol shows Sun-young’s photos to him, and though he becomes surprised, he pretends he does not know the girl.
One day, Sang-cheol introduces Hyung-woo to Sun-young, but both act like they are strangers. That day, Sang-cheol tells Sun-young about the torture that Hyung-woo endured when he lived with his ex-wife.
Afterwards, when Hyung-woo and Sang-cheol go to a public bath, Hyung-woo almost faints listening to the cruelty that Sun-young’s ex-husband did to her.
Later, Hyung-woo meets Sun-young and suggests her to marry Sang-cheol.
Hyung-woo resigns from his office and decides to move to a different place. That time, he receives a call from a friend telling him about the marriage news of Sun-young and Sang-cheol.
He rushes to the wedding’s venue. By the time he reached there, the marriage ceremony was about to start in the presence of the invited guests. Seeing Sun-young and Sang-cheol standing together, Hyung-woo went on his knees to ask Sun-young to give him a second chance.
To his great wonder, Sun-young turns to him and tells him that he is spoiling her pet dog’s marriage function. Afterwards, they talk to each other and settle their misunderstandings. Although Sang-cheol is sad about losing Sun-young, he decides to stay away from the lives of Sun-young and Hyung-woo.

‘Love, Again’ is a South Korean romantic comedy movie that discusses themes like marriage and true love. By presenting the lives of Sun-young and Hyung-woo, the movie shows the life of a married couple when they start to feel overwhelmed in their current life. It shows the importance of restarting a relationship without losing its excitement and happiness.
Though the couple decides to divorce, they start to get a strange missing feeling, making them realise that they cannot live without the other one right next to them.
