Kim Ji-eun was born on 9 October 1993 in Incheon, South Korea. She graduated from Cheongju University from the Department of Theater.
With the dream of becoming an actress, Ji-eun began her entertainment career as a model. She debuted as a model by appearing for the South Korean energy drink brand Bacchus-F in 2016. The same year, she was seen in musical videos such as ‘SugarFree Girl’ by Coin Classic, ‘So-So’ by Baek A-yeon, and ‘Promise (I’ll Be)’ by 2PM. Ji-eun played a supporting role in the 2018 movie ‘The Drug King’ starring Song Kang-ho, Jo Jung-suk, and Bae Doona a year before she signed her contract with HB Entertainment. In it, she played the supporting role of the wife of a smuggler.

Afterwards, in 2019, she joined the agency HB Entertainment and was seen in the movie ‘Long Live the King’ soon after. It was a box office hit in South Korea, earning its director the ‘Director of the Year Award’ (Director Kang Yoon-sung) and its lead actor the ‘Actor of the Year Award’ (Kim Rae-won). In the movie, Ji-eun appeared in the supporting role of the character Joon.

In 2022 Ji-eun played her first lead role in the SBS drama ‘Again My Life’ released in 2022. It is a fantasy drama that reveals the story of a young man who gets a second chance in life. Afterwards, that year, she played the role of a legal trainee named Baek Ma-ri alongside Namkoong Min in the legal drama ‘One Dollar Lawyer’.
In the 2023 K-drama ‘Longing for You’, Ji-eun and the directors Han Chul-soo and Kim Yong-min partnered again after the 2022 drama ‘Again My Life’. ‘Longing for You’ tells an exciting investigation story where the lead characters hunt for the truth behind a serial murder case.
For her excellent performance in the show, she was awarded in the category of ‘Excellence Award, Actress’ in the 2023 Korean Drama Awards. She performed the role of Go Young-joo, an extremely talented prosecutor who uses any possible way to punish the culprits.
