Synopsis

Hyung-wook is an extraordinary hitman who never misses his target. He has committed a new project to kill a young woman named Song Eun-joo, and currently he is stalking her to get the right moment. His years of working as an assassin have given him a filthy good life with all its luxury. He owns a big house and luxury cars and has every accessory in his possession, so he can easily disguise himself in any identity.

Whichever way he tries to execute his further steps, fate has got some interesting plot twists in his life!

He goes to a public bath after a long day of work. He puts his clothes in a locker and searches for a place where he can take a bath. However, when he walks, he steps on a soap that accidentally slipped from someone’s hand. He falls to the ground and soon will be taken to the hospital when he does not regain his consciousness or open his eyes.

Without anyone’s notice, there was a depressed young man named Jae-sung taking his bath in silence. He aspired to become an actor. However, his plans did not go as planned, and he became bankrupt. Losing all hope, he is on the verge of ending his life.

Jae-sung has already noticed Hyung-wook for walking into a local public bath in his good suit and expensive watch.

While Hyung-wook lies motionless on the floor, Jae-sung, unnoticeably, exchanges his locker key with his.

Hyung-wook loses his memory due to the shock he gets on the back of his head. Since he has no other option, he accepts the identity of Jae-sung due to the belongings that were in the locker. During the time of discharge from the hospital, he finds out that he does not have enough money to pay his hospital bill.

To his help, a kind girl named Lina appears to the scene from nowhere. She lives with her mother, who runs a restaurant.

Lina helps Hyung-wook to find Jae-sung’s house, and since she finds it very dirty, she also helps him clean the house.

Hyung-wook starts to live the life of Jae-sung at his house, but he could not figure out what he was doing for a living. However, he discovers his skill in using the knife. Therefore, he assumes that he was a chef, and Lina helps him find a job at her mother’s restaurant.

After he joined the restaurant, it became famous for its new chef. While working as a chef, he discovers that his dream was to become an actor by seeing a date marked on the calendar.

When Hyung-wook works hard to pay the debt and become an actor, thinking it is his responsibility and dream, the real Jae-sung enjoys the luxury life of Hyung-wook. However, it does not last long since the people who paid Hyung-wook for killing Song Eun-joo contact him. It is only then Jae-sung realises that Hyung-wook is a hitman and not an undercover agent who secretly guards Song Eun-joo. By that time, Song Eun-joo and Jae-sung had already fallen in love.

Hyung-wook regained his memory after going for a picnic with Lina’s family. Afterwards, he goes to his apartment and finds Jae-sung and Song Eun-joo together. Initially, Hyung-wook knocks down Jae-sung out of anger, but later, the trio decides to conspire a plan to escape from the riddle that they caught themselves in by faking their death.

To execute the plan and to start a new life, Hyung-wook says goodbye to Lina, telling her that they cannot be together in the future. However, she was not ready to give up her love for Hyung-wook. She follows him and jumps into the scene where Hyung-wook, Jae-sung, and Song Eun-joo are acting out the fight. Lina’s unexpected appearance creates a tension. However, they manage to ease her nerves and complete their plan.

Later, Hyung-wook apologises to Lina and reveals his true identity. An overwhelmed Lina takes him to the shooting set to complete the filming of the program. During filming, Hyung-wook comes up with a quick solution and confesses his feelings for Lina by improvising the dialogues.

The movie happily ends by showing Hyung-wook and Jae-sung restarting their lives as actors with the support of their sweethearts.

Theme

Focusing on humor, ‘Luck Key’ talks about themes like fate, luck, and identity crises, to name a few. However, the film mainly shows the importance of using the second chance that the lead characters got in their lives to live a calm and satisfying life.
