Synopsis
Lee Yeon-seo (Shin Hye-sun) is a famous ballerina. Yeon-seo becomes a heiress after the sudden death of her parents. She doesn’t trust anyone since there are a lot of people around her who lurk around her inherited assets. Nobody loves her because of her distrustful and arrogant nature. The skilled ballerina has to give up on her dream as she meets with an accident.
The Flashback: Accident
The famous ballerina Lee Yeon-seo is performing on stage. Suddenly, a chandelier mysteriously falls, and the glass plunged into her eyes, causing her complete blindness. She can no longer dance and is struggling to find meaning in her empty life.
The rich blind heiress lives in a mansion with servants. Yeon-seo has two caregivers; Chung Yu-mi (Woo Hee-jin), who sincerely takes care of Yeon-seo despite much abuse, and Cho Seung-wan (Jang Hyun-sung), who is a loyal and faithful male secretary. Chung Yu-mi and Cho Seung-wan were both hired by Yeon-seo’s late parents when she was a child.
The only relatives Yeon-seo has are her aunt Choi Yeong-ja (Do Ji-won) and two cousins, Geum Ni-na (Kim Bo-mi) and Geum Ru-na (Gil Eun-hye). Choi Yeong-ja is the director of Fantasia Ballet. She is a greedy woman who never stops until she gets what she wants.
Geum Ni-na is also a ballerina, and her sister Geum Ru-na will do anything to make Ni-na happy. The mother and daughters are extremely happy that Yeon-seo is blind, and they hope that they can take over the famous ballet corp where Yeon-seo had been head ballerina at the time of her accident.
Yeon-seo is so unhappy that she doesn’t even care if she lives or dies. One day, Kim Dan (Kim Myung-soo) enters Yeon-seo’s life as part of his heavenly 100-day mission to find someone who can give her true love since her life is unfilled and empty.
Later, a terrible car accident happens on a bridge and Yeon-seo loses his secretary, Cho Seung-wan in the accident. Seung-wan was a father figure to her. His death makes Yeon-seo realise how much she cared about her loving foster father who had taken care of her after her parents had died.
Angel Kim Dan rescues Yeon-seo from that accident, and later he appears as a human in front of her so that he can help her find love. He is appointed as her secretary, and over time, the two grow closer.
Struggling Yeon-seo is not aware that Seung-wan had already decided to donate his eyes to Yeon-seo which was written in his will. After a long time, she finally gets a transplant operation and her life is changed for good. Yeon-seo tries to gain control of the ballet corp once again and starts dancing. This makes her cousin, Geum Ni-na jealous.
Geum Ni-na had a crush on head ballet master Ji Kang-woo (Lee Dong-gun), Yeon-seo’s mentor and ballet instructor. Ni-na becomes more jealous when Ji Kang-woo seems to be close to Yeon-seo.
The nasty aunt and Yeon-seo’s cousin, Geum Ru-na, aim to destroy Yeon-seo. Aunt Choi Young-ja is the one who prevented Yeon-seo from getting a cornea transplant in the past 3 years. Geum Ru-na is the mastermind behind the attack on Yeon-seo, and she insists that she did everything to help her sister, Geum Ni-na, who aims to become the lead ballerina for Fantasia.
Dan’s mission is about to finish; the 100th day is nearby. Dan is upset, as angles are not supposed to love humans, and he finds himself to be failing his mission. He prayed to God to become human. Meanwhile, Yeon-seo learns Dan’s true identity, and she also prays to God even though she is not a devotee. Yeon-seo never believed in God, as she felt that God was never on her side as her parents and manager died.
Hu (Kim In-kwon), the archangel who gives this mission to Dan, warns him not to interfere with Yeon-seo and hints that her destiny is to be killed by her family. However, they both decide to marry one week before the 100th day.
Archangel Hu’s Holy Hands to Help Kim Dan
Archangel Hu killed the man trying to harm Kim Dan when he was following the man who worked for Ru-na to kill Yeon-seo. Hu vanished into air as a punishment for killing a human. Meanwhile, Yeon-seo is in a church trying to commit suicide as she thinks of sacrificing herself so that Kim Dan can become human. Before disappearing, Hu sends Kim Dan to stop Yeon-seo from committing suicide.
Ending Explained
It’s the 100th day of Kim Dan’s mission and the first day of Giselle’s performance. Yeon-seo is sad as it’s their last day together, and she is reluctant to perform. Kim Dan persuaded her to dance for him.
Meanwhile, Ru-na went to the theatre to kill Kim Dan to make Yeon-seo lonely forever. She could not reach Kim Dan, as Yeon-seo found her before she could reach Kim Dan. During their argument, Ru-na stabs Yeon-seo. Kim Dan disappears when Yeon-seo’s operation takes place. Ru-na is sentenced to jail for her crimes.
Angel Kim Dam is given the chance to return to heaven as he accomplishes his mission to make Yeon-seo understand the true meaning of love. However, Kim Dan rejected the offer to go back to heaven. When the feather on Kim Dan’s handkerchief turns black, everyone believes that he has disappeared forever. However, Yeon-seo was still able to see him around the house.
One day Yeon-seo went to the bench at the park where they first met, and to her surprise, she saw Kim Dan sitting near her, however, she could touch him. Both are extremely happy as God finally answered their prayers.
