Rising Korean Actor Byeon Woo-seok Says, “I Faced 100 Rejections” In a Recent Interview
South Korean model-cum actor Byeon Woo-seok, a rising Korean actor who is currently gaining much popularity as the lead character of the ongoing romantic comedy-drama ‘Lovely Runner’ has reminisced about his audition memories saying he failed more than 100 auditions before his acting debut in a recent interview with Vogue Korea.
Woo-seok opened up about the ups and downs of his acting career and the highlights and struggles he experienced throughout when he appeared in a video for actor and TV personality Hong Seok-cheon’s YouTube show named Hong Seok-cheo’s Jewel Box. He revealed his acting beliefs and found time and experience are the most important aspects of acting.
Despite his eventual success, the actor’s journey was marked by multiple setbacks. He said, “I faced rejection in auditions over a hundred times. It felt like I failed almost every attempt, to the point where I questioned if I could endure such repeated failure. Yet, I persisted and poured my utmost effort into every opportunity.”

South Korean actor Byeon Woo-seok was born on 21 October 1991 in Seoul, South Korea. He is known for his roles in ‘Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency’, ‘Record of Youth’, ‘Moonshine’, ‘20th Century Girl‘, ‘Strong Girl Nam-soon’ and ‘Lovely Runner’.

‘Lovely Runner’ is an ongoing South Korean television series based on a web novel, ‘Tomorrow’s Best’, starring Byeon Woo-seok and Kim Hye-yoon in the lead roles. This series was premiered on television on 8 April 2024.
In this series, Byeon Woo-seok plays the role of Ryu Sun-jae, a top star who has good looks, talent and charm. He is a former swimmer turned singer and actor, but his life as a celebrity didn’t end well, ultimately leading up to his unfortunate death.
