Biography of Park Ho-san

South Korean actor, theatre and musical actor Park Ho-san under Lighthouse Entertainment is known for his roles in ‘True Beauty’, ‘Less than Evil’, ‘Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency’ and ‘The Guest’. He also appeared in several commercial films, including ‘Indian Summer’ and ‘A Mystery of The Cube’.

Early Life and Education

Park Ho-san was born on 18 October 1972 with his birth name Park Jung-hwan in Seoul, South Korea. After completing his school education at Baejae High School, Ho-san graduated from the Department of Theatre and Film at Chung Ang University.

Career

Big Screen Life of Park Ho-san

He made his acting debut as a theatre actor in 1993 with the play ‘Winter Wanderer’ after becoming a member of Theater Yeonwoo Company. He has been involved in film activities since 1997 acting in a small role in the film, ‘Black Jack’. Whereas in 1998, he appeared in minor roles in four films, ‘A Mystery of the Cube’, ‘Saturday, 2:00 pm!’, ‘Story of Man’ and ‘Soul Guardians’. After 3 years, he was cast in the feature film, ‘Wanee & Junah’.

In 2013, Ho-san starred opposite Bae-Hae-sun in the musical of Kim Min-jung as Eric Satie French composer and pianist. It was directed by Park Hye-sun. Next year, he appeared in a South Korean independent sports comedy super hit feature film, ‘The King of Jokgu’, the directorial debut of Woo Moon-gi. He appeared in three hit films in 2017 such as ‘The Selfish Man’, ‘The Deokmo: The Age of Rebellion’ and ‘The Great Army’. In the same year, Park Ho-san appeared in a South Korean historical film, ‘Warriors of the Dawn’ by Jeong Yoon-cheol, starring Lee Jung-jae and Yeo Jin-goo set during the 1592 Imjin War.

He played the role of CEO Park in 2019 in the television series, ‘Beautiful Voice’. Next year, he was cast in the K-drama, ‘The Call‘ as Kim Seo-yeon’s father and as Yang Do-soo in ‘Night in Paradise’. In 2022, Park Ho-san appeared as Lee Seok-woo in the television series ‘Project Wolf Hunting’.

In 2023, Ho-san was seen in three Korean dramas. He played the role of Lee Seung-woo South Korean psychological thriller film, ‘Unlocked’ directed by Kim Tae-joon, as Yong-gi in ‘Always I am’ and as Joruz in ‘The Bright Girl’.

Park Ho-san’s K-drama Appearances

Park Ho-san made his drama appearances in 2014 with Shinobu Kaitani’s South Korean television series, ‘Liar Game’, based on the Japanese manga of the same title. In 2015, he played the role of a painter in the musical Myeongdong Romance. He also appeared in a few more roles in the plays, including ‘Chuncheon There’, ‘The Book of a Thief’, ‘Frozen’, and ‘In the Heights’.

After 3 years, Ho-san received a lot of appreciation for his supporting role of Kang Chul-doo in the drama series, ‘Prison Playbook’ in 2017.  In 2018, he appeared in the K-drama ‘My Mister’ as a replacement for Oh Dal-su in the role of Park Sang-hoon, Dong-hoon’s eldest brother. In the same year, he appeared in other four Korean series, ‘Mother’, ‘Lawless Lawyer’, ‘The Guest’, and ‘Exit’. 

Ho-san played the role of a leading detective Jeon Choon-man in the metropolitan area who is at odds in the series ‘Less Than Evil’ based on the British series ‘Luther’ starring Choi Daniel, Park Eun-bin and Lee Ji-ah.

In 2019, he appeared in a supporting role in the television series, ‘Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency’  based on the 2014 novel of the same name. Actors including Kim Min-jae, Byeon Woo-seok, Gong Seung-yeon, Park Ji-hoon, Ko Won-hee and Seo Ji-hoon appeared in the lead role. During the same year, he appeared in the drama, ‘Pegasus Market’ based on Kim Gyu-sam’s webtoon of the same name, starring Lee Dong-hwi and Kim Byung-chul. Park Ho-san was cast in the third and fourth episodes of the South Korean television series, ‘Catch the Ghost’ starring Kim Seon-ho and Moon Geun-young.

In 2020, he was seen in the South Korean television series, ‘Dinner Mate’ starring Song Seung-heon, Lee Ji-hoon, Son Na-eun and Seo Ji-hye. He then appeared in two series, ‘True Beauty’ and ‘Hush’.

He appeared in cameo roles in two television series, ‘The Penthouse: War in Life’ and ‘Racket Boys’. In 2022, he appeared in four series such as ‘Hunted’, ‘Today’s Webtoon’, and ‘Behind Every Star’.

She appeared in a cameo role in the 14th, 15th and 16th episodes as a Bishop in the Korean drama series, ‘Taxi Driver 2’ and as a cheerful and quick-witted CEO of The Hangang Philharmonic in the South Korean series, ‘Maestra’ in 2023.
