All You Need to Know about Netflix’s South Korean Drama Mr. Plankton
The writer of the romantic comedy series, ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay’ Yo Yong is all set for another hit K-drama, ‘Mr. Plankton’, which will be released on Netflix soon. The upcoming South Korean drama will star Woo Do-hwan, Lee Yoo-mi, Oh Jung-se and Kim Hae-sook in the lead roles.

The main lead of the show, Woo Do-hwan will appear in the role of Hae Jo who is a drifter, whereas Lee Yo-mi will play Jo Jae-mi, one of the most unlucky people in the world. Both lead characters join after an unusual incident in the series.
In this upcoming Netflix series, Oh Jung-se will portray Eoh Heung, the groom-to-be of Jo Jae-mi and Kim Hae-sook will play the role of Beom Ho-ja.
‘Mr. Plankton’ follows the lives of people who are not able to make connections easily. The lead role of Woo Do-hwan, Hae Jo, has been linked to having been born as a ‘mistake’ in this series and he compares his life to that of a plankton. So, he decides to investigate his roots and the truth of who his father is.

Woo Do-hwan
Woo Do-hwan, born on 12 July 1992, in Anyang City in Gyeonggi Province in South Korea, is one of the most charismatic South Korean actors and occasional models. He gained popularity in the entertainment industry with a handful of movies and television series and is managed by KeyEast Entertainment.
With his great enthusiasm for acting and dreams of establishing himself as an actor, made his acting debut in 2011, in a cameo role in the television drama, ‘You’re Here, You’re Really Here’.
He honed his acting skills with his supporting roles and a big break happened in 2017, after playing the lead role in the mystery television series, ‘Save Me’, with 16 episodes.

He took a break in his acting career for two years and enlisted for his mandatory military service from 6 July 2020 to 5 January 2022. After completing his mandatory military service, he concentrated on his acting career. Also, he did some model shoots prior to his comeback to his acting career.
Lee Yoo-mi
South Korean actress Lee Yoo-mi, born on 18 July 1994, is known for her roles as Ji-yeong in ‘Squid Game‘ and Lee Na-yeon in ‘All of Us Are Dead‘.
Yoo-mi made her debut acting in 2010 with the action thriller film, ‘The Yellow Sea’. She rose to prominence outside South Korea for her role of Ji-yeong in the Netflix series, ‘Squid Game‘ in 2021. Her performance made her the first Korean actress to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.

She starred as Lee Na-yeon in the Netflix zombie-themed series, ‘All of Us Are Dead‘ in 2022. Her realistic acting further pushed her to fame, in combination with her earlier popularity from ‘Squid Game’.
Oh Jung-se
South Korean actor Oh Jung-se, born on 26 February 1977, is popular for his roles in the television series ‘Missing 9’, ‘When the Camellia Blooms’, ‘Hot Stove League’ and ‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay‘ and the film, ‘Swing Kids’.
He made his entertainment debut in 19997 with the film, ‘Father’. Since then, he has appeared in several dramas, movies, music videos and plays.

Kim Hae-sook
Kim Hae-sook is a South Korean actress, born on 30 December 1955. She made her acting debut in MBC’s ‘Chief Inspector’ in 1974.
Hae-sook appeared in over 30 films and has won more than 10 awards as of 2023. Moreover, she is an author and has published her book, ‘Mother of Hallyu Stars: Kim Hae-sook’s Story’.
Some of her notable works include, ‘The Legend of Gingko’, ‘My Sassy Girl‘, ‘Hope’, ‘Autumn in My Heart’, ‘Marriage Not Dating’, ‘Pinocchio’, ‘Strong Woman Gang Nam-soon’ and ‘My Demon’.
