Early Life and Education
Career and Achievements
While growing up, the young and brilliant South Korean actor, Woo Do-hwan always had great enthusiasm for acting and dreamed of establishing himself as an actor.
He made his acting debut in 2011, in a cameo role in the television drama, ‘You’re Here, You’re Really Here’. He did two cameo roles during the initial years of his acting career. ‘Shut Up Flower Boy Band’ was another drama in which he played a cameo role.

He started pursuing more prominent roles after his graduation. He appeared on the big screen in 2016, with his first role in a South Korean war drama film, ‘Operation Chromite’ as a subordinate. The film, directed by Lee Jae-han, also known as John H. Lee, is based on a real-life incident which took place during the Battle of Inchon.
In 2016, he played the supporting role of a man wearing a baseball cap backwards, in the South Korean action crime film, ‘Master’ which was directed by Cho Ui-seok. The actor starred in a comedy-drama web series, ‘Dramaworld’ with 10 short episodes and ‘Sweet Stranger and Me’, later in 2016.
Woo Do-hwan honed his acting skills with his supporting roles and a big break happened in 2017, after playing the lead role in the mystery television series, ‘Save Me’, with 16 episodes. His character, ‘Kim Min-joon’, a genius former swindler in the television series, ‘Mad Dog’, gave him more popularity in the same year.
In 2018, he astonished the public with his lead character role as a seducer in the television drama, ‘Tempted’, co-starring Kim-ara, and Mi Seon-jeon. The series with 32 episodes aired from 12 March 2018, to 1 May 2018. The viewers of this highly-acclaimed series are waiting for the release of its second season.
He played lead roles in two 2019 South Korean films, ‘The Divine Fury’, a horror film by Kim Joo-hwan and ‘The Divine Move 2: The Wrathful’, a crime action film by Lee Khan. He was seen in ‘My Country: The New Age’, a television series from 4 October 2019, to 23 November 2019.
He did only one series in 2020, and it was a romantic fantasy South Korean television series, ‘The King: Eternal Monarch’. He co-starred with Lee Min-ho, Kim Go-eun, Kim Kyung-nam, Jung Eun-chae, and Lee Jung-jin in the drama. The series premiered on Netflix and SBS TV on 17 April 2020.
Since he entered the acting world, Woo Do-hwan successfully secured his career with some notable roles. He took a break in his acting career for two years and enlisted for his mandatory military service from 6 July 2020, to 5 January 2022. After completing his mandatory military service, he concentrated on his acting career. He did some model shoots prior to his comeback to his acting career.
In 2023, he appeared in a cameo role as a husband in the film, ‘My Heart Puppy’, a South Korean film directed by Jason-kim, starring Yoo Yeon-seok and Cha Tae-hyun in the lead roles. He played a cameo role again in a television series, ‘Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist’ in the 10th episode of season 2.
Woo Do-hwan is all set to star in the lead role in an upcoming South Korean television series, ‘Joseon Attorney’, by Kim Seung-ho and Lee Han-joon. The drama is scheduled to release on 31 March 2023 on MBC TV.
He will also play a lead role in an upcoming web series, ‘Bloodhounds’, by Kim Joo-hwan. Actors Lee Sang-yi, Park Sung-woong, and Huh Joon-ho will be his lead co-stars in the series, and it is scheduled to be released on Netflix in the second quarter of 2023.
Military Life
One of the most promising actors in Korean films, Woo Do-hwan enlisted his mandatory military service on 6 July 2020 after taking a break from his acting career for two years. He was on vacation leave from 31 October 2022. He was discharged from the base immediately after his vacation to prevent the further spread of Covid-19.
Moreover, he never failed to show his gratitude towards his fellow soldiers after his discharge. He posted on Instagram with a message which said, ‘Thank you for being my friend and family’.

Coming over his personal life he is currently single and 30 years old. According to sources close to him, he is a person who does not like to reveal any details about his life to the public on social media. He has kept a clean public profile free of rumours and controversies.
