Biography of Go Min-si

Go Min-si is an actor, model, and director based in South Korea. She was born on 15 February 1995, in Daejeon, South Korea. She rose to fame through ‘The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion’ (2018), ‘Love Alarm’ (2019-2021), ‘Youth of May’ (2021), ‘Sweet Home’ (2020-2023), and ‘Smugglers‘ (2023).

Early Life and Education

Go Min-si attended Sejong University and majored in Film Arts. The course contributed to her acting and directing skills.

Career

Go Min-si made her entry into the South Korean entertainment industry as a director in 2016. Also, she co-starred in her directorial debut short film, ‘Parallel Novel’. She was awarded the Grand Prize at the Three Minutes Film Festival for her remarkable contribution.

Later in the year, she starred in the third season of the web series ’72 Seconds’. By the end of 2016, she collaborated with the South Korean singer and actor, Thunder, in his solo song ‘Sign’.

2017 was an eventful year for Min-si. She starred in the web series ‘Absolutely Perfect Man’ and made her mini-screen debut through ‘My Sassy Girl’. The same year, she appeared in two other TV series, ‘Hello, My Twenties! 2’ and ‘Meloholic’.

She appeared in a guest role in the 2018 drama ‘Welcome to Waikiki’. Afterwards, she appeared in the anthology series KBS Drama Special in ‘Forgotten Season’ and ‘The Smile Has Left Your Eyes’. She starred in the film adaptation of the television series ‘Cheese in the Trap’ of the same name.

She received the Best Supporting Actress award at the 55th Grand Bell Awards and the Popular Star Award at the 7th Korean Best Star Awards for acting in the role of Do Myung-hee in the movie.

She starred in the role of Hwaja in the 2019 movie ‘The Battle: To Victory’. It was a period movie based on the battle between South Korea and Japan. Afterwards, she appeared in a supporting role in the K-drama ‘Love Alarm’ streamed on Netflix. Also, she starred in ‘Secret Boutique’, the thriller series, along with Kim Sun-a, Chang Mi-hee, Park Hee-von, Kim Jae-young, and Kim Tae-hoon.

Again in 2020, Min-si starred in a KBS Drama Special, ‘The Reason Why I Can’t Tell You’. She was also included in the cast of the movie ‘Set Play’ and the K-drama ‘Sweet Home’.

Originally a webtoon of the same name, ‘Sweet Home’ contributed to the popularity of Go Min-si, as the drama received critical acclamation around the world. Her character’s name in ‘Sweet Home’ is Lee Eun-yu, and she appears as an adoptive child who is young and arrogant.

In the 2021 drama ‘Youth of May’, she appeared opposite Lee Do-hyun. It became a remarkable milestone in her career. The show was a hit, and it rose her popularity. She appeared in the role of the nurse, Kim Myung-hee.
