Biography of Yoon Eun-hye

South Korean actress, singer director, fashion designer and model Yoon Eun-hye, who debuted as a member of the girl group Baby Vox in 1999 is also popular for her extravagant performance in the television drama series ‘Princess Hours’, ‘The Vineyard Man’, ‘Coffee Prince‘, ‘My Fair Lady’, ‘Lie to Me’ and ‘Missing You’. Eun-hye has been a member of the group WSG Wannabe since 2022.

Yoon Eun-hye was born on 3 October 1984 in Guro District in Seoul, South Korea. She spent her childhood with her sibling Yoon Ban-suk. However, there is no information available about her parents.

Eun-hye attended the online institute Kyung-Hee Cyber University and joined Chung-Ang University to study Film Arts later. She had dreamed of becoming an actress at a younger age. Her determination made her pursue her dreams and accomplish it within her 30 years of age.

Initial Career 

Yoon Eun-hye made her debut in the entertainment industry as a member of the K-pop girl band ‘Girl V.O.X’ in 1999 replacing Lee Gai at the age of 15. From their debut record, ‘Come Come Come’, she was able to deliver hits, ‘Killer’, and ‘Get Up’ along with the band. She was lucky enough to gain fame from her first work itself. This made others to have dislike and envy her.

One among those sprayed a mixture of vinegar and soy sauce in her eyes to blind her. She was receptive to forgiving that attacker and chose not to file a case, saying it was a minor injury. She stayed with the agency till 2005 and then began to explore new career opportunities. She had to wait around five years for the big screen after her movie debut. She was cast in the coming-of-age movie ‘My Black Mini Dress’ in 2010, which was based on a novel by Kim Min-Seo of the same name. In 2011 she starred in the SBS romantic comedy television series, ‘Lie to Me’, in the role of a smart government official who gets unlucky in the love department. Yet, both her works did not earn any critical or commercial success.

After two years, Eun-hye was cast alongside Park Si-hoo in the Chinese-South Korean movie, ‘After Love’. Next year, she made a special appearance in the movie ‘Chronicle of a Blood Merchant’, directed by Ha Jung-woo.

Her former managing company, ‘Eight Peaks’ accused her of being irresponsible online in 2007. It damaged her reputation and she cancelled her contractual agreement with the company and thereafter joined the company Kraze Entertainment.

Plagiarism Accusations 

Korean fashion designer Yoon Choon-ho accused Eun-hye of copying his designs after she won the Chinese fashion show ‘Goddess Fashion’, following the theme of ‘Chronicles of Narnia’ in which she presented a white coat with collars and a fringe on the sleeves to give a feel of wings.

Besides, Eun-hye was involved in another plagiarism allegation when another designer accused her of having a similar dress to the 2015 F/M Dolce & Gabbana which featured feather decorations. However, she denied both allegations and proved her innocence.
