Pyramid Game: tvN’s Latest Psychological K-drama is dropping on 29 February, Brace Yourselves for a Rollercoaster of Emotions

TVING will start streaming its most exciting high school psychological thriller K-drama ‘Pyramid Game’ from 29 February 2024. The drama will feature Bona (Kim Ji-yeon) from WJSN, Jang Da-ah, Shin Seul-ki, Ryu Da-in and Kang Na-eon in lead roles. Bona in the drama plays the role of a high school student called Sung Soo-ji, who joins a school as a second-grade student. The drama portrays the struggle of Sung Soo-ji to survive in the school fighting against her bully classmates.

TVING announced the production of its upcoming drama ‘Pyramid Game’ on March 2023.

Apart from TVING, the drama will also be available on Paramount+ in certain areas.

Sung Soo-ji gets a weird feeling on the first day in her new school. She is a second-grade student transferred to the Baekyeon Girls’ High School in Seoul. As instructed, she goes to class 5 and finds her class strangely quiet. Even the introduction of a new student does not bother the class in the last bit. Soon she gets hold of the things that happen around her in the school. Without much delay, the students in class 5 organise a poll called Pyramid Game.

Pyramid Game is a monthly poll that the students of Baekyeon Girls’ High School conduct without fail. The vote that each student gets in the poll determines their popularity and the student who gets the least number of votes in the poll will be targeted by the bullies.

Unfortunately, Sung Soo-ji becomes the target of bullies with zero votes in the poll. The school turns into a haunted house with her classmates turned against her. No one in the school is concerned about the students who become the target of bullies each month based on their popularity in the school. In other words, the school and its atmosphere represent a cold-blooded society that continuously pricks the weaklings. Therefore, Sung Soo-ji decides to stand up for herself and fight against the spooky voting system that the school follow.

‘Pyramid Game’, is originally a webcomic penned and illustrated by Dalgonyak. The first episode of the psychological thriller webcomic, ‘Pyramid Game’ was posted on 24 January 2020 and its last episode was posted on 22 April 2022 on Naver. The K-drama ‘Pyramid Game’ is directed by Park So-yeon and penned by Choi Soo-yi. It is co-produced by the production companies Film Monster and CJ ENM Studios.

The first episode of the drama ‘Pyramid Game’ is expected on 29 February. However, the drama makers have not revealed further details about the number of episodes and its streaming time. TVING uploaded the drama’s poster but it has not released the official trailer. The poster shows Bona (as Sung Soo-ji) standing in a classroom which is framed in a red triangle.
