Early Life
Career and Achievements
Pre-debut
Jihyo was discovered by JYP Entertainment after finishing second in a Junior Naver competition. She began training with the company when she was eight years old, and over the next ten years, she worked with K-pop stars like Wonder Girls’ Sunmi and Hyerim, Bae Suzy, Jo Kwon, and Nichkhun before becoming the face of Innisfree’s teen line with boy band ‘Boyfriend’.
Debut with TWICE and Solo Activities
TWICE made their public debut in October 2015, when ‘The Story Begins’, was released, which is their first extended play. Its lead single, ‘Like Ooh-Ahh’, made history by becoming the first K-pop song to debut with 100 million YouTube views. Her debut OST, ‘Stardust Love Song’, for tvN’s Twenty-Five Twenty-One, was released on March 6, 2022.
She released ‘I Fly’, the title of her second OST, for SBS’s Today’s Webtoon. She was named the brand face of the Korean cosmetics company Milk Touch in 2023. She made her writing debut on TWICE’s most recent album, ‘Formula of Love’. She appeared in The Body Shop’s “Sharing Campaign” in November 2021. Since her debut with TWICE, this was her first endorsement as a solo artist. She posed for Secret T(TN) alongside Nayeon as a trainee.
