One Spring Night
What about a raw and real romance that is aspirational and sweet at the same time? With a deep exploration of relationships and characters while putting healthy relationship dynamics on display, ‘One Spring Night‘ portrays a beautiful and minimalistic love story.
Guess what? Two people fell in love despite the whole world telling them not to. Their love story is heartwarming, given the weight of their internal struggles and the societal pressures they had to bear because they belonged to a Korean community.
The drama follows the story of Lee Jeong-in (Han Ji-Min), a librarian who is in a 4-year-long relationship with banker Kwon Gi-seok (Kim Jun-han). While in search of a hangover remedy, she turns up at the pharmacy and meets the pharmacist, Yoo Ji-ho (Jung Hae-in). An instant attraction forms, and they find themselves drawn to each other. The timing couldn’t be worse, as Jeong-in’s family expects her to marry her boyfriend, Kwon Gi-seok, even though their relationship is uncertain. And you know what? Despite everyone else frowning on her, Jeong-in doesn’t even mind that Ji-ho is a single father.

My Holo Love
In a world where technology is advancing, AI taking human form by wielding a sort of power is indeed alarming. Connecting this idea into a love triangle, ‘My Holo Love‘ is the best Korean drama to blend sci-fi with romance. Just think: can robots ever have feelings, and would they be able to experience pain and love? This is definitely interesting, isn’t it?
The drama offers an enjoyable and self-contained story, blending the right formula of romance, tension, and humour with an engaging premise at its core. The story revolves around Han So-yeon (Ko Sung-hee), who suffers from face blindness, a condition that stops her from being able to recognise faces. She lives a solitary life and doesn’t have deep connections with the people around her.
One day, her entire life changes when she starts using the AI programme Holo, whose appearance is like that of his creator, Go Nan-do (Yoon Hyun-min). As the story progresses, the real Nan-do begins to fall in love with So-yeon, but his personality, contrary to the Holo, is not in his favour.
The story gets into a love triangle, with So-yeon having feelings for both Holo and Nan-do. A good story that shows a consistent evolution of character. The great journey of the protagonists and the challenges they faced across the show make ‘My Holo Love’ a must-watch.

I’m Not a Robot
It’s time for a rom-com without those dramatic, crazy plot twists. ‘I’m Not a Robot’ is a story that is easy to love because of its endearing cast and quick pacing. The fictional drama with realistic feelings portrays the story of a wealthy man named Kim Min-kyu (Yoo Seung-ho) and a passionate young entrepreneur named Jo Ji-ah (Chae Soo-bin) with high emotional intelligence.
You know something: Kim Min-kyu is the biggest shareholder of a financial company and lives an isolated life due to a severe allergy that causes extreme rashes on his body once he makes any form of skin contact with other people. Jo Ji-ah gets caught up with him because the AI robot he buys has her face. The story takes an interesting turn when he ends up falling in love with Jo Ji-ah, who pretends to be a robot named Aji-3.
It is extremely pleasing to watch Chae Soo-bin play the dual roles of the human Jo Ji-ah and the robot Aji-3, which made the drama so memorable and enjoyable. The realistic depiction of the ailment is shown in the drama.
Beyond a warm and very funny robot plot, ‘I’m Not a Robot’ shows us the importance of trust and proper communication in relationships and how misunderstandings can ruin relationships easily if not cleared timely. It is a great reminder to not let go of important people in our lives just because of anger or stubbornness. Get out of that cocoon of pride and resolve conflicts with your loved ones.
A meaningful drama about love, family, friendships, mental health, trust issues, and human-AI interaction is a go-to stress reliever that contains the sweetness and warmth you need to escape reality for a while. It is available for streaming on Netflix!
