Biography of Pyo Ji-hoon
Pyo Ji-hoon widely known by his stage name P.O is a South Korean rapper, singer and actor. He is the youngest member of the boy group Block B and its Sub-unit Bastarz.
Early Life and Education
P.O was born on 2 February 1993 in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated from Hanlim Multi Art School in 2012. He comes from a wealthy family background and his father has a duty-free store.
Career
P.O always dreamt of becoming an actor and took acting lessons in elementary school. He joined Hanlim Multi Art School to pursue his dream of acting. He developed an interest in hip-hop along with his best friend Mino. He initially ignored offers and decided to rejoin Stardom Entertainment to debut with Block B. He debuted with Block B in 2011.
He released a song to express his gratitude to the Block B Club, Block B’s official fanbase. He released ‘Dear My Wife’ to his Cyworld featuring Winner’s Mino. P.O along with Block B member Zico were the MCs for MTV’s ‘The Show’.
P.O released his first song ‘Amino Acid’ from ‘Mixtape Bigboi is Ready 2 Showtime’ with Winner’s Mino. For Rookie girl group Delight, P.O featured in their song ‘Mega-Yak’. He starred in Kye Bum-zu’s music video ‘Something Special’ in company with Hello Venus’s Yoon-Jo.
He was featured in the digital single ‘It’s Not a Big Deal’ by V.O.S’s Kim Kyung Rok. The single was released on 6 January 2014. He co-wrote the lyrics for the title track of the SBS drama ‘Secret Door’. The same was performed by Block B and was released on 22 September 2014.
He participated with U-Kwon and B-Bomin for Block B’s first sub-unit Bastarz. It was released along with a video for the title track ‘Zero for Conduct,’. It was a great hit and debuted at number three on the Gaon album chart.

He also featured in Kye Bum Zu’s ‘Give It 2 U’. Bastarz released a Japanese version of ‘Conduct Zero’. The single was a hit and ranked number 20 on the Oricon weekly chart.
He appeared in the theatrical play ‘Superman.com’. Apart from acting he also contributed to the composition and production of a new theatrical troupe, Company Boy. Bastarz, made a comeback featuring a lead single composed by P.O. The sub-unit’s second mini-album was titled ‘Welcome to BASTARZ’. He received lyric credits for all five songs. P.O and Block B member U-Kwon appeared on the new show ‘Lipstick Prince’.
P.O was cast in a special variety show broadcast on MBC for the Korean New Year titled ‘Living Together in Empty Room’. The show topped number 1 among New Year’s specials. He was cast as the MC for the cooking variety show ‘Strange Restaurant’ which premiered on the O’live television channel. He also appeared in the second season of ‘Lipstick Prince’.
P.O was cast in the drama ‘Our First Romance’ starring Lee Jong-hyun and Lee Yu-bi and was cast on the MBC variety show ‘Secret Variety Institute’. He was the MC for the SBS MTV music program ‘The Show’, along with Jeonghwa of EXID and Yeonwoo of Momoland. He was enacted in the second play ‘Manitoz’ by the Company Boy troupe. He and U-Kwon received the Maxim K-Model Icon Idol Award. He was a part of the cast in the SBS drama ‘Temperature of Love’.
He was a part of the Japanese special project album, ‘Block B: Project-1’. He performed the song Winner with U-Kwon and the Japanese rapper Chanmina. His solo debut was titled ‘Men’z Night’ featuring Chancellor. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the late singer Yoo Jae-ha, P.O took part in the tribute album.
In the spring of 2018, P.O starred in various works like ‘Living Together in Empty Room’, ‘Superman.com’, ‘Great Escape’ and ‘New Journey to the West 5/6’. In 2018, he acted in two dramas ‘Encounter’ and ‘Love Alert’. On 11 November 2018, he released a new song ‘Comme des Garçons’.
In 2019 he acted in the theatrical production of the Company Boy troupe’s live version of the 2005 film ‘Boy Goes to Heaven’. In the same year, it was revealed that he would act as master of ceremony for the upcoming MBC Entertainment Awards with Hwasa of Mamamoo and Jun Hyun-moo.
In 2020 he starred in Company Boy’s theatrical production, the play ‘Almost, Maine’. He played the characters Randy and Dave in the production. He was also part of the play’s Busan production. In 2021, he did not renew his contract with his label Seven Seasons and signed up with Artist Company. Three days before his enlistment he performed his last show ‘Amazing Saturday’ on 10 February 2022.

In 2012, the band received criticism for their disrespectful behaviour during an interview in Thailand. The severity of the backlash led to extreme measures of petitioning, like apologising by committing suicide. This had a toll on his health affecting his emotional and mental well-being leading to hospitalisation.
