Biography of Taeil
Lee Tae-il, famous by the stage name Taeil is a South Korean singer, signed under Seven Seasons. He is the main vocalist of the South Korean boy band Block B managed by KQ Entertainment. The other members of the band include: B-Bomb, Jaehyo, U-Kwon, Park Kyung, Zico, and P.O. He is also a part of the T2u sub-unit with U-Kwon.
Early Life and Education
He was born on 24 September 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. He resides with his parents, elder sister and younger brother. He is a graduate of Global Cyber University and has attended Kim Myung-ki’s Vocal Academy. Before joining Block B, he was an MBC’s Star Audition 1 contestant.
Career
On 13 January 2017, Taeil performed two solo concerts in Tokyo, Japan in addition to his work with Block B. He completed a seven-show, six-city tour of Japan from August 26 to 7 September 2017. His performances were in company with Block B member U-kwon.
He was the judge for the Blind Musician singing competition sponsored by the Korea Music Copyright Association, the Federation of Korean Music Performers, and the Korean Entertainment Producers’ Association in 2018.
Taeil’s first solo concert was officially announced in 2018 and on December 22-23, the performance took place in Seoul’s Olympic Park K-Art Hall. All tickets were sold at once at the time of sale. In May 2019, Taeil and Park Kyung performed two concerts in Seoul.
His lead singles include: ‘Inspiring’ (2015), ‘It Was Love’ (2016), ‘A Doll’s Dream’ (2016), ‘Come to Me'( 2017), ‘Easiest Thing To Do’ (2017), ‘Fluttering’ (2018), ‘Love Is Magic’ (2018), ‘Later’ (2018), ‘Remaining Star’ (2019).
He has collaborated with various prominent artists and has produced multiple collaborations. Some of his collaborative credits include: ‘I Like You, I Don’t’ with Sejeong, ‘Rainy Day’ with Wheesung and Chungha, ‘As I Told You’ with Minzy, ‘Saturday Night’
with Choa and ‘Me Gustas Tu’ with Minzy. He participated in several music variety shows like ‘Duet Song Festival’, ‘The Call’, ‘The Masked Singer’ (as Whistle), ‘Singing Battle’, and ‘Inkigayo’.

As a member of the popular and emerging South Korean boy band Block B, Taeil is a promising and fledging artist. He has created several lead singles and collaborative works.
He was nominated at the 2017 Melon Music Awards for ‘The Hot Trend Award’ for his work ‘I Like You, I Don’t ‘. In 2022 he was nominated as the ‘Best New Male Entertainer (Variety)’ at Blue Dragon Series Awards.
Military Life
On 10 June 2019, Taeil announced his military enlistment. Once he completed his service period, he took a break and returned home on 4 December 2020 even though his official discharge was on 4 January 2020.
