Kim Kyung-nam is a South Korean actor, theatre artist, host, singer and musician. The passionate actor is known for his notable roles in various television series, including Prison Playbook, Come and Hug Me, Special Labor Inspector, The King: Eternal Monarch and Revolutionary Sisters.
Early Life and Education
Kim Kyung-nam was born on 21 December 1989, in Nowon District in Seoul, South Korea. He graduated from the Theatre Department at Seoul University.
Career and Achievements
The popular actor Kim Kyung-nam made his acting debut in 2012, with the South Korean television drama ‘Faith’, directed by Kim Jong-hak and Shin Yong-hwi. He played the role of an assassin whereas Lee Min-ho and Kim Hee-sun played the lead roles in the series. After that, he appeared in several major and minor roles in various dramas and movies.
Kyung-nam enacted in the South Korean daily television drama series, ‘Shining Romance’, which aired from 23 December 2013 to 20 June 2014 with 122 episodes. Shin Hyung-chan and Jung Ji-in were the directors of the successful series. In the same year, Kyung-nam appeared in a television drama, ‘Gap-dong’, which was based on the real-life Hwaseong serial murders. It aired from 11 April 2014 to 14 June 2014, with 20 episodes. In 2016, he played a supporting role in a television series, ‘Hello, My Twenties!’ which aired from 22 July 2016 to 7 October 2017.
Kim Kyung-nam made his film debut with the South Korean drama film, ‘Come, Together’ by Shin Dong-il in May 2017. The film was based on the life of an ordinary Korean family, contending with the pressure of society, which they are dealing with regularly.
The talented actor Kyung-nam did three television series in 2017. He played the role of an executive secretary in the series, ‘Innocent Defendant’ by Jo Young-kwang and Jung Dong-yoon. Kyung-nam’s second film was ‘The Discloser’, a thriller film by Hong Ki-seon, released in 2018. The film was based on an investigative reporter and former colonel, who dug into military secrets to uncover the secrets behind a corruption case. In the same year, he also played in multiple television series, including ‘Exit’ by Jung Dong-yoon, ‘Come and Hug Me’ by Choi Joon-bae and ‘About Time’ by Kim Hyung-sik and Park Shin-woo.
The third movie of Kim Kyung-nam was Yook Sang-hyo’s ‘Inseparable Bros’, a South Korean comedy-drama film in 2019. He played the role of a teacher in the film. He was a part of two television series that year. He played a lead role in the drama, ‘Special Labor Inspector’ along with Kim Dong-wook, Park Se-young and Ryu Deok-hwan. The series, which aired from 8 April 2019 to 28 May 2019, was about the story of a civil servant who later became a labour inspector in the Employment and Labour department. In his next television series, ‘Birthday Letter’ by Kim Jung-kyoo, he was a classmate and lover of Jae-yeon, the heroine.
In 2020, he appeared in the romantic-fantasy South Korean television series, ‘The King: Eternal Monarch’, which premiered on Netflix on 17 April. In 2021, he acted in a lead role in ‘Revolutionary Sisters’, a television series starring Yoon Joo-Sang, Hong Eun-Hee, Jeon Hye-bin, Go Won-hee, and Lee Bo-hee. He also played a lead role in the series, ‘The One and Only’, starring Ahn Eun-jin, Kang Ye-won, and Park Soo-young from 20 December 2021 to 8 February 2022.
