Biography of Jinho
Jo Jin-ho widely known as Jinho is a South Korean singer, lyricist, dancer, composer, vocal coach and member of the South Korean boy group Pentagon under Cube Entertainment. He creates history by becoming the first idol to make it to the finals of the JTBC singing competition program Phantom Singer 4. His quartet team, Crzel, was ranked third and officially debuted.
He is an ex-trainee of SM Entertainment and a member of the project group SM the Ballad. After leaving SM Entertainment, Jinho became a vocal coach in 2015. He has trained several music artists, like Cube labelmates (G)I-dle and Yoo Seon-ho.
Early Life and EducationÂ
Jinho was born on 17 April 1992 in Bucheon, South Korea. At a young age, he lived in different places like Daejeon, and Qingdao, China, and settled in Seoul. He was inspired to be a singer after watching Brian Mcknight and Johan Kim perform a duet of McKnight’s ‘One Last Cry’.
Career
In 2018, Jinho won first place in the SM Everysing Contest and was selected as a trainee through SM Entertainment’s casting system. Along with members Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, Shinee’s Jonghyun, and TraxX’s Jay debuted as a member of SM the Ballad in 2010.

The group received a warm reception and debuted their EP ‘Miss You’ which topped the Gaon Album Chart. He was cast in the musical Summer Show in 2013.
Jinho left SM Entertainment in 2015 and started working as a singing tutor at Modern K Academy in 2015. The Academy pursued him to audition at Cube. He was a part of the vocal project group with Seorin-dong Children with Hui and another female singer. They released a remake of Lee Won-jin and Ryu Keum-deok’s classic titled ‘For All the New Lovers’. He featured in K.Shin’s song “Perception” in 2016 with Hwang Sung-dae under the name Mush.
After successful entry to the audition, he participated in Pentagon Maker. He made it to the final lineup and debuted on 10 October 2016. The following year, he started a personal project Magazine Ho releasing covers in several genres and languages. His project featured various artists like CLC’s Sorn, (G) I-DLE’s Jeon So-yeon, HYNN, and bandmates Hongseok, Shinwon, Hui, Kino, and Yeo One.
On 17 March 2018, he held his first mini-live concert for cover songs. He starred in the musical Iron Mask as Raul. The musical was staged at the Kwanglim Art Center, in Seoul.
His mini-live concert “Magazine Ho Vol.2 – Ready Ho” was held on 19 January 2019 at Ilchi Art Hall. The special guests during the concert, members Hongseok and Kino were present. His fourth musical, ‘Goddess Watching You’, was performed at the Daehangno Arts Theater in Seoul.

His third solo mini-live concert was “Magazine Ho Vol.3 – Off Stage”. His first performance cum meeting with fans was on 10 January 2020. He sang a self-composed and written song ‘Gravity’ with Kino. Jinho appeared on Mnet’s music talk show Studio Music Hall 2 and was introduced as a ‘high note terminator’. In 2023, he joined season 4 of Phantom Singer as a contestant. His quartet Crezl ranked third in the final round.

Jinho is admired for his alluring vocals and collaborations with various artists. His live concerts have won over fans both domestically and internationally. He has trained popular K-pop bands like (G)I-dle. He is a musical artist who is building and advancing his career for the future.
