Biography of Yuto
Yuto Adachi widely known as Yuto is a multifaceted Japanese rapper, singer, songwriter and composer. He is a member of the South Korean boy group Pentagon formed by Cube Entertainment. The group consists of nine members: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok.
Early Life and Education
Yuto was born on 23 January 1998 in Nagano, Japan. He is the youngest and has one sister and a brother.
Career
He had an ardent desire for K-pop from a young age. Inspired by K-pop groups like TVXQ and Girls’ Generation, he watched them together with his sister on television. He was captivated by their vocal skills, synchronized dance, and visuals.
During high school, he was fascinated and became a K-pop fan. He danced to K-pop music and choreography along with his friends, and he used to upload choreography videos to the internet.
Later, he applied to a global audition in Japan held by a Korean entertainment company and was rejected because he was too young. At 15 years old, he persuaded his parents to let him relocate to Korea. His passionate desire to become the first Japanese male K-pop star and a big sensation led him to undergo intense training for three and a half years as a trainee before debuting with the Pentagon.
He was a former JYP Entertainment trainee. He succeeded in the Cube Star World Audition’s international selection and became a Cube trainee in 2014. The following year, he participated in the 2015 Idol Star Athletics Ssireum Basketball Futsal Archery Championships. He was partnered with Goaldae-Sliga alongside Doo-joon and Yoseob of Beast, as well as Roh Ji-hoon, and they won the gold medal in the men’s futsal.
In 2016, he joined as a survival candidate in the South Korean television reality program Pentagon Maker, hosted by Cube Entertainment and co-produced by Mnet. However, he was on the verge of elimination but was saved by his performance of ‘Young’ (Prod. by Dok2) with his team.
Yuto, alongside Jinho and Wooseok, performed Block B’s ‘Very Good’ during the 3 vs. 3 vs. 3 match in Pentagon Maker. Initially, he was eliminated but later joined as the 6th member of the Pentagon. Before the official debut, he made a cameo appearance in Yeo One’s web drama ‘Spark,’ alongside fellow Pentagon members Hui, E’Dawn, and Wooseok.
He officially debuted as a member of the Pentagon on October 10, 2016, with their first EP ‘Pentagon.’ A versatile talent, he serves as the lead rapper and lead dancer in the group. He participated in the Pentagon’s second extended play, ‘Five Senses.’ After his debut, he co-wrote the song ‘Engine.’ Additionally, he made a cameo appearance in the drama ‘Hello, My Twenties! 2’ with his bandmates, portraying a member of Asgard in 2017.
In 2023, he became the co-host of the TV Tokyo program ‘Who is Your Next? The Global Stage’ alongside ONF’s U. Later, it was announced that he had left Cube Entertainment, along with fellow Pentagon members Yeo One, Yanan, Kino, and Wooseok. He signed with RINK Entertainment and moved to Japan. Featuring the lead single ‘Dat Girl,’ he released his first single ‘Dat Girl’ and three other songs.

The agency statement “Regarding the dating rumours between Hui and Soojin that were reported on August 3, we have confirmed the facts and they are as reported through our official statement earlier today. Also, Yeeun and Yuto are simply close friends and colleagues who have been friends since before their debut as both are rappers in their respective groups.” They added, “Cube Entertainment artists maintain a friendly relationship from their time as trainees, and they always fully support each other as close colleagues.”
