Biography of Kyung
Park Kyung celebrated by his stage name Kyung is a South Korean singer, rapper, record producer and member of Block B. He marked his official debut with Block B on 13 April 2011 with ‘Do U Wanna B?’. He began his solo artistry on 21 September 2015.
Early Life and Education
Kyung was born on 8 July 1992 in Seoul, South Korea. He has two siblings, a younger brother Park Chan and an older sister Park Saehim. He completed his education at Kamo High School in New Zealand for two years and in the US for 1 year. He is also a member of Mensa International, a high-IQ society.
Career
Kyung set out his rapping career by promoting underground along with Zico. He used the stage name ‘Holke’ for the promotion which means Horse-K. In 2009, he debuted with the digital single ‘The Letter’ with Zico.
He was one of the regular cast members of the television variety show ‘Problematic Man’. On 9 September 2015, a teaser image of Kyung’s solo debut was released.
‘Ordinary Love’, the debut single released on 21 September 2015 was produced by Korean/American jazz hip-hop producer Kero One in collaboration with Kyung. The debut single also features the vocals of Park Boram. The single clinched the top spot on various domestic charts on the day of release. It ranked number 1 on Melon and number 3 on Gaon Weekly Digital Chart.

On 18 May 2016, a teaser video was uploaded for his single ‘Inferiority Complex’ featuring GFriend’s Eunha. The original single was released on 25 May 2016. In the vibrant music video, Kyung and Eunha are a romantic couple with lovable squabbles. The video also has its version of the live broadcast show ‘My Little Television’. The same year, Park Kyung and Eunha starred in the second series of the online show ‘Oh My God! Tip’, acting out tips for dealing with difficult situations. It topped number 1 on a variety of Korean real-time music charts.
He appeared on the show ‘Celebrity Bromance’ along with Kim Ji-seok. He released his third digital single ‘Ogeul Ogeul’ on 19 December 2016 with backing tracks by Kero One. The title of the single is a transcription of a Korean expression, which signifies the cringing feeling of being excessively sentimental or cheesy.
He released his first mini-album ‘Notebook’ containing five songs. Three of the tracks were previously released singles. On 6 February 2017, Block B released the digital single ‘Yesterday’ which was composed by Kyung. The song was an all-kill topping six of Korea’s real-time music charts.
He produced the song ‘Love or Not’ featuring Kim Se-jeong of Gugudan which was released by Block B’s member Taeil. The song was nominated for Melon Music Awards for the category ‘Hot Trend Award’ in 2017. He also co-wrote and performed for the song ‘The Night Sky’, from the drama ‘The Best Shot’.

He appeared in the variety show ‘Mystery Rank Show 1, 2, and 3’. The show is about the mind games between the guests and the reasoners. Five candidates appear on every episode tackling the given mission. In 2017, as a part of an endorsement campaign, he released the single ‘Wiped’ from the album ‘Space Oddity Project Vol.1’. During the Chuseok holiday, Kyung was the host of the annual International Public Diplomacy show Quiz on Korea together with Leeteuk.
He composed and produced Block B’s album ‘Re: Montage’ with the lead single ‘Don’t Leave’ featuring Sumin. The single is rich with funk style and lyrics about modern technology and its consequences on human relations. In 2018, Kyung released a single in collaboration with the South Korean boy band The Boyz. On 8-9 March 2019, Kyung organized a solo fan meeting titled ‘28.3°C’, in Seoul. Taeil and Kyung held two concerts in Seoul on 25-26 May 2019.

Military Life
Kyung was supposed to enlist in the military service on 21 January 2020 and it was requested to postpone to take part in the questioning regarding the sajaegi controversy.
His official enlistment began on 19 October 2020 serving for almost a year and a half. Due to legal actions against him, there was a delay in his joining. He was scheduled to be discharged in April 2022 because of his health issues and was switched from military service to public service which extended his discharge. He was officially discharged from his service on 21 September 2022.
Personal Life
Kyun was caught up in the net of multiple controversies. These allegations were made about his social life and not about his personal life. He keeps his personal life private and is single and not dating.

On 24 November 2019, he officially tweeted and later deleted, his accusations of other artists for sajaegi or chart manipulation. He was pressed charges for defamation and was found guilty by Seoul Eastern District Court. He was fined 5 million won for violating the Act on Promotion of Information Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection etc.
An anonymous person stated to be Kyung’s schoolmate posted on Instagram accusing him of school violence to students of special needs. He released an apology via social media on 29 September 2020.
