Synopsis
Sung Deok-mi (Park Min Young) is a committed professional who lives and breathes being an art gallery curator. She gives her all to her career and is great in all but one respect. Deok-mi conceals a sinister secret behind her suave, businesslike exterior. She is fervently trying to keep this secret from the public.
A secret that has turned away lovers. Every moment of her daily life is governed by a hidden one. She is the biggest fan of Cha Shi-an and this secret is hidden from the world. Deok-mi is so much addicted to Shi-an that she lives, eats, and sleeps for him. He is her moon and her sun. He is the cornerstone of her entire world. This is the secret Deok-mi must hide from the world.
However, she has to hide this top secret from the world, until Ryan Gold (Kim Jae-wook), the new director of the art gallery, enters her life. The once-famous painter-turned-director views himself as an apathetic being who doesn’t care about other people’s lives. But everything changes when he learns Deok-mi’s secret. Ryan and Deok-mi have multiple awkward first encounters, which puts them both on the wrong foot. He also initially misunderstands her in every possible manner.
However, as he gets to know her, he is curious about her. And when she finds herself embroiled in a crisis involving her idol, we get the good old false romance between her and Ryan to let the two get closer while attempting to mend things. And as a result of Ryan becoming entangled with both of her personas without realising it, things become even more complicated. But as he starts to fall for her, he learns that she is really a fangirl. It was hilarious to watch him enter Deok-mi’s website as a fan of Si-an and then proceed to fangirl over her.
He ends up being the sort of partner from a perfect fantasy who doesn’t mind Deok-mi’s fangirling and is wholly supportive of her. For sure, it’s very adorable. The drama reveals many unexpected secrets throughout the episodes and ends on a happy note between Ryan and Deok-mi.
‘Her Private Life’ – A Romantic Comedy About an Idol Fangirl
In the romantic comedy ‘Her Private Life’, Park Min-young plays an idol fan who has been devoted to her hero for a long time. She conceals her fangirl side while working as a curator at an art museum, but as a new director (Kim Jae-wook) is hired, her cover is put in perils. Sung Deok-mi, the fangirl of our idol, is portrayed by Park Min-young.
Deok-mi is a polished, poised, and excellent curator of art. She is, however, a real fangirl of Si-an of the pop band ‘White Ocean’ in private. She has a variety of items in her house, is constantly prepared to take stunning pictures of him, and even manages a well-known fan website for him.
The current director of the art museum in Deok-mi is Ryan Gold, whose real name is Kim Jae-wook. He might be a little prickly and distant, but underlying that, he’s really quite wonderful. Additionally, he suffers from trauma related to being left in an orphanage as a young child. Cha Si-an (One) of the well-known band White Ocean and the trouble-making sasaeng Cindy (Kim Bo-ra), who is well-known in the fan community and serves as a bit of a rival to Deok-mi, round out the cast.
It is Possible to Fall for an Ordinary Person
‘Her Private Life’ demonstrates that despite how obsessive fangirl Sung Deok-mi is, it is still possible for her to fall in love with a different guy.
Co-fan Girls are Your Friends for Life
Its amazing how Sun-Joo, Deok-mi’s best friend, supports her throughout the drama. The kind of friendship they share is adorable. Everyone has that one friend who will always be there for them, who will be by their side no matter what, who will always understand them, and who will enjoy their antics! There is always someone like Sun-joo who might share your fangirling obsession, no matter what your desires may be. Such relationships are always cherishable.
Her Private Life Ending Explained
When Duk-mi’s father (Maeng Sang-hoon) learns that Heo Yoon-jae is actually Ryan Gold (Kim Jae-wook), he tells her that she once had a younger brother who perished in a horrific automobile accident. Due to the pain the event had caused Duk-mi (Park Min-young) forgot about him.
Duk-mi rushes to her mother (Kim Mi-kyung) and gives her a big hug when memories of her brother start to flood back. Duk-mi regrets that her mother had to endure all those years of emotional suffering without being able to share it with her and expresses her regret to her mother. It is really therapeutic for the two to talk about this difficult recollection. The most lovely bond the two could ever share is remembering Duk-soo with her mother.
In episode 15, we learn that Ryan was taken in by Duk-mi’s mother after his mother abandoned him at the playground. She had cared for him for approximately a month, but for a variety of reasons, she left him at the orphanage. Duk-mi’s mother feels terrible about it and tries to meet the youngster to apologise after learning that he is Ryan Gold. As soon as Duk-mi apologises, Ryan flips the script and thanks Duk-mi’s mother for even taking him in for that brief period of time.
She has been carrying this burden on her shoulders for years, and she is so torn up about it. Therefore, when he gives her that relief by complimenting her instead, it is the ideal moment and a great reconciliation. Duk-mi regrets her mother’s abandonment of Ryan at the orphanage. Duk-mi goes to Ryan and essentially begs him for forgiveness after learning about her younger brother and speaking to her mother.
