As the one-year anniversary of Soo-ah’s passing approaches, Woo-jin and Ji-ho are surprised when a woman who looks exactly like Soo-ah appears in the nearby woods. However, the woman has no memory of her past life with Woo-jin and Ji-ho. Despite this, Woo-jin and Ji-ho take her into their home, hoping that she will regain her memory and stay with them forever.

Woo-jin and Ji-ho begin to spend time with Soo-ah, trying to help her remember who she was and how much she loved them. As they go on various adventures and experience new things together, they begin to fall in love with each other all over again.

Ending Explained
The ending of the movie is bittersweet and emotional, leaving viewers with a sense of both happiness and sadness. After having a beautiful and unforgettable rainy season together, Soo-ah, Woo-jin, and Ji-ho come to the realization that Soo-ah’s time with them is coming to an end. As the final day of the rainy season approaches, Soo-ah makes a heartbreaking decision to return, leaving Woo-jin and Ji-ho behind.
However, before Soo-ah departs, she leaves a final message for Woo-jin, telling him that she will always be with him and that they will meet again in their next life.

Later, Woo-jin finds Soo-ah’s diary which chronicles their love story and the time they spent together. Through the diary, Woo-jin learns that when he went to Seoul looking for Soo-ah, she had actually seen him and ran after him. Unfortunately, she was hit by a car and fell into a coma. During the six weeks she was comatose, Soo-ah time-travelled into the future and had a glimpse of her life as Ji-ho’s mother and Woo-jin’s wife. After waking up from the coma, Soo-ah realizes that her experience was not just a dream.
When Soo-ah meets Woo-jin and Ji-ho at the tunnel, she was actually comatose at the hospital. They are actually meeting the Soo-ah who had time-travelled from the past to the future.
Woo-jin also realises that young Soo-ah knows that if she ends up with Woo-jin, she will eventually die. Nevertheless, she chooses to be Woo-jin’s wife to experience happiness with him despite the inevitable outcome.
Love that Transcends Time and Space
The undying love between Woo-jin and Soo-ah and their son Ji-ho, who are separated by death but are reunited again during the rainy season. This emphasizes the idea of love that transcends time and space, showing that even death can’t break the bond of true love. Their love is not bound by time, and even a year after Soo-ah’s death, Woo-jin’s love for her remains as strong as ever. This theme is further emphasized by the idea of the rainy season, which acts as a bridge that connects the two worlds and allows Woo-jin and Soo-ah to reunite.
The movie also emphasizes the importance of cherishing the memories we share with our loved ones. Memories are the only thing that remain with us when our loved ones are gone, and they serve as a reminder of the love we once shared with them. This theme encourages us to hold onto our memories and to cherish the time we have with our loved ones.
The resilience of the human spirit and the power of love to help us overcome even the toughest situations are also shown in this movie. Despite the loss of their loved one, Woo-jin and Ji-ho find the strength to continue on with their lives, inspired by the love they shared with Soo-ah. This encourages us to never give up, even in the face of adversity, and to draw strength from the love and support of those around us.
