Synopsis

Kim Yumi is a 32-year-old woman living alone in her apartment. She has been single for a long time, and her continued failure in romantic relationships puts her love brain cell in a coma. (Her inner thoughts and emotions are portrayed as tiny animated characters that reside inside her brain.) After seeing a man named Chae U-gi, she starts to have feelings for him. Giving her hope, Chae U-gi also starts to give her attention when she is around.

However, Ruby, Yumi’s coworker, is jealous of her friendship with Chae U-gi. She middles in whenever she sees Yumi and Chae U-gi talking. One day, Yumi gets a chance to talk to Chae U-gi in private, but to her disappointment, she learns that Chae U-gi already has a girlfriend. Also, she finds out that Chae U-gi has been nice to her to introduce Yumi to his friend Goo Woong. With her permission, Chae U-gi arranges a blind date for Yumi and Goo Woong.

Goo Woong and Yumi differ in a lot of ways. Yumi is the kind of girl who appears well-dressed and dedicates her time to cooking good food. She works in the finance department of a reputed company. On the contrary, Goo Woong is an unfashionable, straightforward man, and he runs a game company with his childhood friends.

Goo Woong likes Yumi after meeting her. Initially, nothing excites Yumi about Goo Woong, but their further dates and communication attract Yumi to him.

Goo Woong’s childhood friend and colleague Seo Sae-yi becomes jealous of their relationship. She loves Goo Woong. Therefore, whenever she meets Yumi, she pretends to know Goo Woong better than Yumi.

Goo Woong moves into Yumi’s house to cut down his expenses when he faces financial crises. She starts loving him more than she ever expected. Since Yumi has been single for a long time, it becomes hard for her friends to believe about her romantic relationship with Goo Woong.

However, her love phase comes to a pause when Goo Woong partially disagrees when she asks him to marry her. He tells her that he is not yet ready for marriage. Upon the disagreement, Goo Woong and Yumi take a break from their relationship. Yumi feels stressed after their separation. Therefore, she approaches her colleague Yoo Babi for advice.

Later, Yumi confronts Goo Woong at a cafe. Goo Woong tells her that he is still not ready for marriage.

Therefore, the first season of the drama ends with Yumi and Goo Woong breaking up their relationship.
