Yang Hyun-suk is a South Korean music executive, rapper, dancer, songwriter, and record producer. He achieved fame as a member of ‘Seo Taiji and Boys’ during the 1990s with other members Seo Taiji and Lee Juno. The group was disbanded in 1996. He founded and was the executive producer and chairman of YG Entertainment. It is one of South Korea’s multinational entertainment agencies, established in 1996, and the fourth-largest record company in South Korea.

Yang Hyun-suk was born on 9 January 1970, in Seoul, South Korea. He has a younger brother named Yang Min-suk. Much about his early life is not known to the public.
Career
Seo Taiji & Boys was formed in 1991 with three members Yang Hyun-seok, Seo Taiji, and Lee Juno. He danced in the Korean dance crew ‘Spark’ and in the dancing group ‘Park Nam Jung and Friends’. He first met Seo when he came to learn dance.
Yang Hyun-suk was impressed by Seo’s music and offered to join the group. The group decided to expand by recruiting Lee Juno, who is one of the top dancers in Korea and is known for his exceptional dancing skills.

Yang Hyun-suk established YG Entertainment in 1996 and released his first solo album, composed and featured by Seo Taiji. After the band split up, their first solo album was their first collaboration. He produced highly versatile artists under his company like Jinusean, 1TYM, Wheesung, Gummy, Seven, Big Bang, 2NE1, Winner, iKon, Tablo, Epik High, Lee Hi, Blackpink, Treasure and Psy.
Due to the hot-button controversies encircling the Burning Sun scandal and other allegations, Yang Hyun-suk and Yang Min-suk stepped down from all positions at YG Entertainment, and the latter resigned as CEO on 14 June 2019.
On 22 December 2022, Yang Hyun-suk was absolved of the charges that had been brought against him. In 2023, he appeared in a teaser video for YG Entertainment’s newest girl group, ‘Baby Monster’, as a part of the ‘YG Next Next Movement’ project. He is now involved in the promotion, just like the event that occurred six years after the debut of the girl group Blackpink.
