Synopsis
Oh Jin-shim (Yoo In-na) is a popular actress who goes by the stage name Oh Yoon-seo. Although she has an attractive appearance, her acting is bad. Jin-shim gets involved in a scandal with the son of a chaebol family, and following this incident, her acting career declines precipitously.
One day, Oh Jin-shim hears that a popular scriptwriter wants her to play the lead female role in a drama series. The character works as a secretary for a lawyer in the series, and to gain experience for the role, Oh Yoon-Seo is required to work as a lawyer’s secretary for a few months. She agrees, and luckily, the CEO of her agency has a cousin who is the CEO of a law firm.
Kwon Jung-rok (Lee Dong-wook) is the top attorney at Always Law Firm, where Oh Jin-shim will be working. Jung-rok is a handsome lawyer who is known to be cold, arrogant, and indifferent. Despite this, he has excellent skills as a lawyer and often successfully resolves various cases.
One day, her boss asks Kwon Jung-rok to let actress Oh Jin-shim work as his secretary for 3 months. Jung-rok is unhappy about the situation, but he must accept it. Jung-rok is a calm, silent person who always works alone in the office and is disturbed by the arrival of a new secretary, Oh Jin-shim.
Although she has no experience as a secretary, Oh Jin-shim tries to do her job well, helping Jung-rok. Initially, their relationship was filled with annoyance and dislike. Jin-shim and Jung-rok work in the same room, and one day Jin-shim changes the interior style of the office, which used to be all dark, to all pink. Later on, Kwon Jung-rok’s frustration began to peak. Kwon Jung-rok has a best friend, a workaholic elite lawyer, Kim Se-won (Lee Sang-woo).
However, gradually Jung-rok and Jin-shim got to know each other better, and their relationship grew. The rough and cold-hearted Kwon Jung-rok’s heart began to thaw after Oh Jin-shim’s arrival. However, it turns out that Oh Jin-shim is an artist who is currently offered to play a role in a legal film, and she intentionally works as a secretary at a law firm.
When the seeds of their love begin to grow between them, several conflicts arise, including the drug scandal that has sidelined Yoon-seo’s career for two years. On the other hand, Oh Yoon-seo is also faced with her ex-boyfriend, who has not been able to move on. After completing three months of practice at the law firm, actress Oh Jin-shim is back on the screen.
Kwon Jung-rok recalled all the times that Oh Jin-shim described her acting days, during which she said acting has always made her feel happy and alive, and he decided to break up with Oh Jin-shim after she regains her popularity as an actress. After the breakup, despite how happy he appears on the outside, he is truly heartbroken. On the other hand, Oh Jin-shim cannot hold back her tears as she is also immersed in thoughts.
After breaking up with Oh Jin-shim, Kwon Jung-rok enters a crisis. He focuses more on his work to stop longing for Jin-shim, as a situation that could be detrimental to his career arises. However, destiny reunites them after Jung-rok confesses his feelings to Jin-shim, and she tells Jung-rok that they should never break up again and should be more honest with each other.
Jung-rok wants to keep their relationship secret, so it won’t affect Jin-shim’s comeback to screens. Things are going smoothly, and only Kong Hyuk-joon (Oh Eui-shik) is aware that they are back together. Kong Hyuk-joon is Jin-shim’s manager for ten years, is loyal, and considers Jim-shim his younger sister.
Drama’s legal consultant job opens up, and Yeon Joon-kyu (Oh Jung-se), the CEO of Always Law Firm, wants to do it. However, he loses to Jung-rok after four employees vote against him. Jung-rok keeps this as a surprise from Jin-shim and surprises her on the shooting set, thinking they will now get more time to spend together.
During the shooting of a romantic scene, Jin-shim and her co-actor have to kiss, which bothers Jung-rok, and manager Hyuk-joon takes him away from the set. Hyuk-joon talks with him and reiterates that it’s all part of her job.
Later, during a team dinner, divorce lawyer Choi Yoon-hyuk (Shim Hyung-tak) and straightforward and honest civil defence lawyer Dan Moon-hee (Park Kyung-hye) reveal they are in a relationship. At the same time, Jin-shim gets worried when Kong Hyuk-joon casually tells about Jung-rok’s jealousy. Hyuk-joon also states that it’s the only drawback of dating an actress, as it can’t be revealed to the public. Upon hearing this, Oh Jin-shim reveals their relationship in front of the entire team, holding his hand in front of everyone. Jung-rok is thrilled by her public declaration.
Ending Explained
Jin-shim makes a triumphant comeback with her drama and receives a lot of love and positive reviews for her performance. Oh Jin-shim and Jung-rok are happily together and making their debut as a couple in front of the media at her agency’s 10th anniversary party. The second lead couple, Yoo Yeo-reum (Son Seong-yoon), a prosecutor whom Jung-rok had a crush on, and Jung-rok’s best friend and an elite prosecutor, Kim Se-won (Lee Sang-woo), also get their happy ending. They both moved in together and got engaged. Attorneys Dan Moon-hee and Choi Yoon-hyuk are also in a happy and committed relationship in the end.
