Synopsis
Detective Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man travel to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to bring back Yoo Jong-hoon to South Korea. Jong-hoon is a suspect who escaped to Vietnam. The communication between Ma Seok-do and the captured criminal, Yoo Jong-hoon, disclosed that it was Jong-hoon’s decision to surrender to the police. Jong-hoon was facing a life threat from Lee Jong-do. Therefore, to ensure his safety, he surrenders to the police.
To capture Lee Jong-do, Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man intrude into his hiding place. By the time they reached him, Lee Jong-do was already dead. However, the detectives get a clue about Yoo Jong-hoon and Lee Jong-do’s collaboration with Kang Hae-sang.
Kang Hae-sang is a hired assassin who kills people for money. The recent victim of Hae-sang is a rich Korean young man called Choi Yong-gi. The detectives start their investigation to find Kang Hae-sang, and they find the body of Choi Yong-gi in a garden. The local police try to stop the duo from proceeding with their investigation.
However, the determination of Ma Seok-do reveals further details about the people involved in front of him. Ma Seok-do learns that Choi Yong-gi’s father, a prosperous rich man, has arranged assassins to avenge the death of his son. The thugs fail their mission and get killed at the hands of Kang Hae-sang. Although Ma Seok-do arrives at Hae-sang’s house, Ma fails to arrest him. To see the man who made arrangements to kill him, Kang Hae-sang lands in South Korea.
With the acquired information, Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man return to South Korea. After reaching the homeland, Ma Seok-do receives news of the presence of a smuggling boat. Out of suspension, Ma Seok-do goes through the CCTV footage to confirm the presence of Kang Hae-sang in Korea.
Since the first attempt to kill Kang Hae-sang has failed, Choon-baek orders his men to catch Kang Hae-sang alive. On the other hand, the superiors of Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man decide to hand over the case of Kang Hae-sang to Foreign Affairs. Ma Seok-do and Captain Jeon Il-man are not ready to accept their defeat. Therefore, they persuade the offices to grant them another week to catch the criminal.
Kang Hae-sang has plotted another plan to appear in front of Choon-baek, Choi Yong-gi’s father. He sneaks into the mourning house where Choi Yong-gi’s funeral is arranged. After killing Choon-baek’s guards, Kang Hae-sang abducts him. Later, he demands money from Choon-baek’s wife.
Ma Seok-do finds it difficult to catch Kang Hae-sang without the help from others. Therefore, he approaches Jang I-soo. Disguising themselves as drivers, In-sook and Jang I-soo go to the place where the deal is supposed to take place. The teamwork of Ma Seok-do and his colleagues helps in the rescue of Choon-baek. However, Kang Hae-sang escapes the trap and runs away after stabbing a colleague of Ma Seok-do.
After causing a lot of trouble, Kang Hae-sang decides to leave South Korea. Kang Hae-sang is determined to track down the money that Jang I-soo has escaped with. He finds Jang I-soo and takes the money. Later, he climbs on a bus to leave Korea, but Ma Seok-do confronts and arrests him. Afterwards, Ma Seok-do and his colleagues celebrate their victory.

The detective named Ma Seok-do is out for his investigation. The movie shows the audience the brilliance of the detective as well as the tactics of the criminal to escape punishment. The detective’s commitment to his work is the fuel of the story, and every case he wins gives him the motivation to commit new cases.
