Biography of Rosé

Korean-New Zealander singer and dancer Roseanne Park, better known by her stage name Rosé, was born on February 11, 1997, to South Korean immigrant parents. She was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia. She successfully auditioned for the South Korean label YG Entertainment in 2012 and was signed shortly.

She trained for four years before making her debut in the girl group BLACKPINK in August 2016. She released her debut solo album ‘R’, in March 2021. In 2012, Rosé attended an audition in Sydney, Australia for YG Entertainment at her father’s suggestion. She finished first among the 700 participants. Two months later, she signed the label as a trainee and moved to Seoul, South Korea. The following year, she was invited to appear on labelmate G-song Dragon’s ‘Without You’ from his extended play (EP) ‘One of a Kind’ (2012). Her name was not made public at the time of the release, and her credit was revealed only after she was announced as a member of BLACKPINK. With 448,089 copies sold, ‘R’ also broke the previous record for a Korean female soloist’s first-week sales.
