Overview of Rebound
The South Korean movie ‘Rebound’ directed by Jang Hang-jun was released on 5 April 2023. However, its eminency declined and the team is under threat of disbandment. With the determination and sincere effort of a low-grade basketball coach, his average-ranked team containing only six players reaches the KBA National Tournament. Synopsis
Jungang High School was once known for its basketball team and the tournaments won. However, the current basketball team of Jungang High School is on the brink of disbandment due to its low performance. To train the existing basketball team, the school appoints Kang Yang-hyeon as the new coach. After losing the fame of the high school’s basketball team, the training court also lost its strength. The backboard stand crumbles down when Kang Yang-hyeon shoots the ball into the basket. He mends the backboard stand and begins his training.
However, working as the head coach of the once-prominent basketball team is not easy. When he joins as the basketball coach, a few of the skilled players in the group leave and join another basketball team. He starts to train the only 6 members left in the team.
On the day Yang-hyeon’s team assembles to play the first match, the team meet their ex-teammate who arrives there to play the match for another team. In between the match, there arises an argument between the inmates and the ball accidentally hits the referee. That incident became the hot news in the next day’s newspaper.
The coach goes through a lot of dilemmas to stay strong in front of his trainees and others. One night he runs crying to the house of one of the players. His emotional and sincere words move the player and he joins with the rest of the teammates.
Later, the coach and the players become friends and they start training enthusiastically under Yang-hyeon. To compensate the lack of members in the team while playing, they use the flex posters of people. The training goes well, but the injuries come along as they play the matches. With the injuries bandaged, they shoot the ball to the basket hiding their pain.
After winning several matches, the team reaches the finals of the National Championship Tournament with a backup of pure determination and confidence.

Additionally, the movie shows the victory of a coach and his team who fought for victory even after getting bullied and insulted.
