Biography of Park Si-eun
Early Life and Education
Park Si-eun was born on 1 August 2001, in Ichon-dong, Seoul in South Korea to the singer and former actor Park Nam-jung and Heo Eun-ju. She grew up with her sister Park Si-woo.
Si-eun began her elementary school education at Seoul Sinyongsan Elementary School, but transferred to Sangmyung Elementary School and later to Sangmyung Middle School. She did her acting course at Goyang Arts High School.
Career and Achievements
Park Si-eun made her acting debut in a children’s mystery drama, ‘Pluto Squad’ in February 2014. The drama was about four child detectives who are solving different cases happening at their school.
Si-eun made her film debut in 2015, with the South Korean romantic comedy film, ‘Love Forecast’. It was co-written and directed by Park Jin-pyo.
‘Love Forecast’ portrays the relationship between men and women as elegant and complex as the weather. The same year, she acted in a television series, ‘Six Flying Dragons’, starring Yoo Ah-in, Kim Myung-min, Shin Se-kyung, Byun Yo-han, Yoon Kyun-sang and Chun Ho-jin.

- ‘Signal’ is a South Korean fantasy police procedural television series. In the drama, Park Si-eun played the role of Oh Eun-ji. Actors Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo, and Cho Jin-woong played major roles in the series. The series, based on the film ‘Frequency’ in 2000, has received widespread acclaim from critics and audiences. It is considered one of the top-rated Korean dramas with a peak viewership of the audience.
- ‘The Good Wife’, a South Korean series is a remake of the American television series of the same title. Si-eun played the role of Lee Seo-yeon, the daughter of the main lead, Hye-kyung. Actors including Jeon Do-yeon, Yoo Ji-tae and Yoon Kye-sang played the lead role.
- ‘The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop’, a television series directed by Hwang In-hyuk, starring Lee Dong-gun, Jo Yoon-hee, Shin Goo, Cha In-pyo, Choi Won-young, Lee Se-young, and Hyun Woo in 2016.
Si-eun signed with JYP Entertainment on 18 January 2017, after leaving her previous agency Fe Entertainment. The same year in May, she was depicted as young Shin Chae-kyun in the South Korean television series ‘Queen for Seven Days’. The drama, starring Park Min-young as the titular Queen Dangyeong, with Yeon Woo-jin and Lee Dong-gun, was aired every Wednesday and Thursday from 31 May 2017 to 3 August 2017.
She then took up further roles in a television series ‘Criminal Minds’, based on the American television series of the same name. The drama, starring Son Hyun-joo, Lee Joon-gi, Moon Chae-won, Yoo Sun, Lee Sun-bin with Go Yoon and Kim Yeong-cheol, was broadcast from 26 July 2017 to 28 September 2017.
The Korean television drama ‘Rain or Shine’, is about love, hope and dreams about people despite their painful past, was the next series of Park Si-eun. It was aired as the first series of JTBC from 11 December 2017 to 30 January 2018.
Si-eun was a part of the action thriller film ‘Golden Slumber’, which was directed by Noh Dong-seok in 2018. The film, starring Gang Dong-won, Kim Eui-sung, Kim Sung-kyun, Kim Dae-myung, Han Hyo-joo and Yoon Kye-sang, is based on a 2007 Japanese novel of the same name by Kōtarō Isaka. The theme of the film revolves around a committed delivery man who later became responsible for an explosion that led to the death of a presidential candidate. Additionally, Park Si-eun also acted in the drama ‘Thirty but Seventeen’ in the same year.

Park Si-eun won the ‘Best Young Actress Award’ for the 2018 television series, ‘Still 17’ by Jo Soo-won. The Korean drama, starring Shin Hye-sun, Yang Se-jong and Ahn Hyo-seop, aired from 23 July 2018 to 18 September 2018.
Park Si-eun is portrayed as a 15-year-old kitchen maid, Choi Kye-hwan, in the South Korean television series, ‘The Crowned Clown’, released in 2019. The series was a remake of the film ‘Masquerade’ in 2012 focusing on the tale of a Joseon King and his doppelganger. She later played the lead role of Ahn Seo in the drama, ‘Everything and Nothing’ in 2019.
In 2020, Park Si-eun left JYP Entertainment and joined a South Korean entertainment agency High-Up Entertainment. On 8 September 2020, her agency announced that Si-eun would debut in a girl group with the temporary name ‘High-Up Girls’, during the second half of the year. The same year in November, they changed their group name and revealed that they finalised their group name as STAYC. Si-eun released her prologue film for the group in 2020.
Her further acting roles of Park include a South Korean television series ‘Mystic Pop-up Bar’ in 2020, based on the webtoon ‘Twin Tops Bar’ by Bae Hye-soo and in the fifth episode of the drama ‘Do You Like Brahms?’ as Jo Soo-an.
In between, she was a special master of ceremony (MC) in 2016 with Jackson and Lee Hong-bin and in 2021 with Sungchan and Jihoon for ‘Inkigayo’, a South Korean music programme broadcast. She was an MC for the ’11th Gaon Chart Music Awards with Doyoung and Jaejae on 27 January 2022.
STAYC – THE GIRL GROUP
STAYC, (Star to a Young Culture), is a South Korean girl group by High Up Entertainment. It is a six-member group, which is meant to dominate pop culture. Korean actress and singer Park Si-eun belongs to one of the most popular K-pop all-female groups, STAYC. She is considered the first member of STAYC which gave her the lead vocalist position. STAYC made its debut single album ‘Star To A Young Culture’ on 12 November 2020.

They gained 15 million views on their debut music video on their Youtube channel. STAYC holds the credit for owning the bestselling debut album by a female group in 2020, and they further managed to sell more than 34,000 copies. In March 2021, they announced the release of their second single album called ‘Staydom’ on 8 April 2021. As of 2022, Park is the only English-speaking member of the group.
