Synopsis
Yoo Na-bi, a devastated woman who has lost all faith in love, and Park Jae-eon, a flirty man who is hesitant to commit to a relationship, start a tumultuous romance.
This drama depicts two individuals who share a similar outlook on love. After some time, they no longer desired to be deceived by love.
The narrative begins when Song Kang’s characters Park Jae-eon and Yoo Na-bi appear on screen (Han So-hee). They are both undergraduates majoring in the art discipline. They attended the same university, as well. Jae-eon is depicted as a charming young man who enjoys being kind to everyone he meets. He is also a happy-go-lucky sort of guy. But sadly, he doesn’t believe being in a relationship is a huge deal. Later, after he met Yoo Na-bi, this viewpoint was altered. Na-bi has had several unpleasant romantic situations in the past. Na-bi made a vow to never fall in love again after that incident.
After she met Jae-eon, the commitment was subsequently breached.

There was some foreshadowing included as well. A brief scene from the previous episode shows Na-bi watching a popular Youtuber’s cooking channel, with the chef’s face obviously covered for the video. When we first met Do-hyeok, it became clear that he was a chef—specifically, the chef Na-bi was watching on YouTube. Na-bi and the restaurant where he works are next to each other!
Seol-a is first seen when Jae-eon picks her up at the airport. She’s presumably the deuteragonist of Netflix’s K-drama Nevertheless. It’s clear that Jae-eon seems to prioritize Seol-a and the instance that highlights this is when he abandons Na-bi on her birthday to meet his former flame.

In episode 10 of ‘Nevertheless’, Jae-eon and Na-bi are still in shock from the previous night as this finale begins. Na-bi telling the boy she never wants to see him again has a significant impact on them both while it is pouring rain outside. Having chosen to ignore Jae-eon’s numerous Eon’s other warning signs in favour of his sympathetic eyes, Na-Bi is undoubtedly regretting her choice.
Na-bi decides to finish her project on her own at school and tells Jin-soo. She no longer needs his assistance. Jae-eon eventually appears and holds her hand, so she isn’t left alone for too long. She gives him a filthy look before pulling away and leaving. Jae-eon is continually looking at his phone while they each wallow in their own suffering. Na-bi looks out her apartment window.
Was the Statue Falling an Act of God?
Ji-wan and Sol are seated next to each other and are flirting while gazing passionately into one another’s eyes. However, Bit-na calls Se-hun because she needs to access her laptop. However, she puts “super hot Kyu-Hyun” as her password, allowing her to access the system and access her files. Overhearing, Kyu-Hyun makes fun of her.
Tragic events occur in school. Na-bi, who is exhausted and worn out, discovers that the clay statue she was working on is in shambles on the ground, ruining her entire project. Was this a planned action? Whether it was or wasn’t, her entire module’s worth of work is now gone. Na-bi’s show is coming up, and the Professor is similarly frustrated as she realises that she will likely fail by default.
Jae-eon arrives and offers to assist Na-bi in trying to fix her project as it pours rain outside. After assisting her in fixing this, he swears to do as she requested and leaves.
As a result, the group secretly cobbles the statue back together. The time Jae-eon and Na-bi spend together causes Na-Bi to rethink her decision as they toil day and night at their jobs. She complains this time that Jae-eon didn’t even offer to drive her home.
Eventually, the sculpture is completed—a rustic angel with frayed wings and a hurt look. Everything has returned to its previous state now that the endeavour has been successful. Jae-eon doesn’t miss a beat, complimenting her on how lovely she is before leaving. He is leaving her alone as promised. Na-bi isn’t content, though.
Where is Jae-Eon?
Jin-soo gives Jae-eon a green book that she requests before skipping out. Jae-eon also says farewell to his butterflies and packs up all of his tools simultaneously. He opens the window and lets them all fly out while he watches.
Nobody appears to be aware of Jae-eon’s whereabouts as day gives way to darkness. However, there are numerous rumours that she fled to the US. However, Na-bi feels disappointed because he left silently.
Jae-eon hasn’t left yet, as we soon learn; instead, he is at home, lying in the dark, contemplating his options. He isn’t gone; he’s just down.
What Happens to Do-hook?
A pair that requests his autograph from Do-hyeok attracts some feminine attention. They want a photo and are huge admirers of his videos. Once the semester is done, Na-bi visits him to tell him that she would leave Seoul for her mother’s house after the exhibition. She had been bugging her to go there, after all.
After his interview, Do-Hyeok chooses to see Na-exhibition Bi’s because he is eager to meet the angel in person. He makes a telling comment about how difficult it was to mend everything, but his expression changes when he realises Jae-eon was the one who was there. Na-bi doesn’t actually say anything, but her repeated pauses and usage of the pronouns “a friend” and “someone” speaks volumes. Do-Hyeok is still optimistic that she will pick him.
What’s in the Green Book?
When Na-bi returns home and consults the green book, her confused feelings become even more pronounced. There are various different sketches in this. In one, she is depicted standing amidst a sea of dark hues. This represents the moment they first met when Jae-eon caught her eye at the art display. He hasn’t stopped thinking about the girl since then and has hoped to run across her once more.
Well, the group gathers at the gallery to view Na-bi’s artwork because it is an exhibition. Na-bi’s effort has earned her professor’s undying admiration. She even gives Na-bi the option to “stretch her wings” by visiting Paris. Despite the enormous opportunity, she can’t help but scowl. Why? Maybe Jae-eon isn’t there.
However, Do-hyeok shows up, with a bunch of flowers but, regrettably, knowing the truth. There is nothing Na-bi can do to stop Jae-eon and himself from falling in love. Na-bi thanks Do-hyeok for keeping his word and apologises for breaking his heart even though he arrives as scheduled. Despite this, Do-hyeok bows and walks away.
Who Does Na-Bi Choose in the End?
At dinner, everyone is beaming, but Na-bi feels lonely without Jae-eon. Jae-eon is gazing at the angel when she returns to the exhibit. He calls him a jerk by NabBi, especially considering that he skipped out on past appearances and never arrived on time.
Na-bi acknowledges that she knows he is a jerk who plays with other people’s emotions, but she still feels better around him. Even if it means he will keep playing with her emotions, she doesn’t want him to leave.
Na-bi explains, “I know that it will cause me pain again”, “nevertheless I still…”. The scene then ends.
As it does, we switch to show Jae-eon and Na-bi strolling side by side. When Na-bi sees Do-hyeok, she considers letting go, but she quickly changes her mind and decides to keep going in the direction she’s chosen for herself. Jae-eon even recommends that they purchase some butterflies, but she flatly declines.
Did Jae-Eon Intentionally Break Na-Bi’s Project?
Thoughts about the situation at the gallery should be held afterwards. This accident was a result of chance, but what if it wasn’t?
It’s possible that Jae-eon deliberately damaged the monument in order to approach Na-bi. They needed a reason to speak once more, and where better to do it than in the studio?
The fact that Jae-eon had been seen lurking about after hours and that the statue was entirely destroyed raises serious suspicions. It’s also possible that, while depressed, he purposefully ruined the entire endeavour.
When he offered that they work together to solve it, Jae-eon sounded unusually upbeat, and we are aware of his propensity for manipulation. He had a great chance to win her over by taking advantage of this. He honoured Na-bi’s request to stay away and was all smiles and happy as he ate with Jin-soo. Of course, we’ll never know.
