Biography of Lee Jung-shin
Lee Jung-shin is a South Korean actor, rapper, musician, actor, and singer. In 2009, he joined as a bassist in the South Korean rock band CNBLUE, which debuted in January 2010 in South Korea. Lee Jung-shin made his acting debut in the family drama ‘Seoyoung, My Daughter’ in 2012.
His stunning performance in supporting roles in the South Korean television series ‘The Blade and Petal’ in 2013 and in the melodrama ‘Temptation’ in 2014 earned appreciation from fans. He has since appeared in South Korean dramas including ‘My First Love’ (2018), ‘Voice’ (2018) and ‘Shooting Stars’ (2022).
Early Life & Education
Lee Jung-shin was born on 5 September 1991 in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Ilsan, the Seoul satellite city. He belongs to a traditional family and lives with his parents and grew up with one elder brother. This chocolate boy is the youngest in the family and when he was a child, his family lived in an apartment.
After finishing high school at Jung Bal High School in Ilsan, in 2009, he was trained under FNC Entertainment and later in September 2009, he joined the pop band CNBLUE as a bassist substituting former bassist Kwon Kwang-jin. Aside from being the youngest band member and a bassist in the band, he also serves as a rapper, musician and backup vocalist.
Career
His acting debut came with a leading role in the South Korean television series ‘Seoyoung, My Daughter’ in 2013. The family drama was ranked with the highest rating and achieved a viewership of 47%. Later in the same year, he was cast in supporting roles in the 2013 South Korean television series ‘The Blade and Petal’ and the television series ‘Temptation’ in 2014.
In 2015, he got his debut lead role in the drama ‘Thank You, My Son’ and he also became a co-host of the show ‘M Countdown’ with Kim Ki-bum, a member of the Korean boy band SHINee. He was a cast member for the romantic comedy television series ‘Cinderella and the Four Knights‘ in 2016 alongside Park So-dam and Jung Il-woo. He released his first solo single soundtrack appearance ‘Confession’ in 2016 followed by his stunning performance in the 2017 historical drama ‘My Sassy Girl‘. His lead role in the fantasy romance drama ‘Longing Heart’ in 2008 marks a milestone in his career.
On 22 July 2019, launched his first Japanese song, ‘Blue Orion’ and then he went on to release the entire Japanese album with 4 more songs on September 25 in the same year. After returning from military duty, he made a comeback in the web series ‘Summer Guys’ in 2021. In September 2022, he was cast in the South Korean television series ‘Shooting Stars’ along with Choi Ji-woo Lee Sung-kyung and Kim Young-dae.

He is a gifted talent in the South Korean entertainment industry with good looks and a charming personality. In 2015, he wrote the lyrics and co-produced CN BLUE’s song ‘Daisy’ from the album ‘Colors’ (2015) and the song ‘Control’ from the album ‘2gether’.
He won the New Actor Award at the Asia Artist Awards in 2016 and got nominations for Best New Actor in the KBS Drama Awards (2012) and the 6th Korea Drama Awards (2013). In June 2018, he was one of the finalists in the Best Photograph category at the 2019 INSP Awards.

Military Life
He served in the military from 31 July 2018 in accordance with South Korean law. After completing his basic military training, Jung-shin was discharged early from his mandatory service on 19 March 2020 as part of COVID-19 prevention measures.

The actor likes to keep his personal life separate from his professional life. Although he admits that dating would be really nice, he’s fairly inexperienced in love. As of 2023, he is not dating anyone. Once in an interview, he revealed that he still hasn’t loved anyone and saved his love for someone special, a life partner.

On 7 April 2019, he donated 10 million won to Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association in order to aid the victims of forest fires in Gangwon Province, South Korea. Jung-shin and his band have been raising funds for awareness of breast cancer.
On 25 October 2021, Jung-shin along with Korean photographer, Alex Kim held a V Live to support Alex Primary School located in Surongo village in the Himalayas. The broadcast was partnered with LOVE FNC Foundation and Naver’s Happybean Foundation for the school’s benefit.
